Hey, anyone to help me decrypt my btc private key protected by BIP38 password for me ? I lost my password for the private key. 1 BTC reward for your help.. Send me an email on [email protected] if you can help....
What do you exactly mean? You could use wildcards to generate random letters which could lead to a word.
You could try the wildcard: %1,4in
This means try 4 digits, small and big letters in a row
It would generate everything between: a and ZZZZ
So every 2-3-4 letter word would be generated
Hi Mind Invaders,
No with btcrecover you can get your password back, when you have got your password back you can use this to get your private keys, but you do that either in the debug console of the wallet, or by decrypting the wallet file using OpenSSL or the BitcoinJ wallet-tool depending on the wallet. But this technique does not work on some wallet.
At the moment I am editing a new video on how to install btcrecover for mac osx. The installation on a mac is much easier than on Windows. If I'm able to finish the edit today it will be online in a couple of hours, or maybe tomorrow.
You can always try it yourself using the official installation guide https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover/blob/master/docs/INSTALL.md
Hi Sinx, If you are trying to do the pip install make sure that you have the pyopencl-2017.2.2....whl file in the directory where you run the pip install from. In your case you are in the C:\Users\alucard> directory. In my tutorial I saved the pyopencl file in the C:\Python27\Scripts> directory.
So you can either save the pyopencl.whl file in C:\Users\alucard> and run the pip install from that directory, like you did in the screenshot, or you save the file in C:\Python27\Scripts> and than you should go to that directory first before pip installing. You can do that by writhing the following in CMD:
pip install pyopencl-2017...whl
Hi, merry X-mas. I finally found my password :)! And immediately transferred the amount to my GDAX wallet. However the transfer stayed in pending for 2 days. After doing some research this might had to do with the fee being to low that multibit used for the transaction (0.00014703BTC). I then clicked on restart blockchain and transactions. This process took a couple of hours. The result is I now have a total of 0 BTC in the wallet and there is no outgoing transaction anymore listed anymore.
Did you have any problems like this or know a way I can get the bitcoins back?
Hi Frank, that is awesome and sad news at the same time.. I did have the same situation here with multibit classic, the transaction fees are abnormal high these days, a couple of weeks ago I spend 0.004btc on fee because I wanted to move btc fast, thats was like 4x13 euros but then again the miners do make a lot of btc, so I guess a lot of new miners enter the game to fix this problem soon.
About the btc being stuck, I ones did a internal transaction with a high fee to speed up the process. Your bitcoins will not be gone, just not yet mined thus un spendable. The coins will either get back to the old address if they never get send, or they will be send to the new address. There is no between in the blockchain, but to avoid this problem I exported my private key from Multibit classic and imported it to an other wallet called Electrum.org there you can manually add fee's.
If you still don't see any btc in your wallet, you can try to reopen the wallet file. The wallet file is usually in hidden folders in your C:\users\yourname\application data\roaming\multibit or something.. Just lost my pc yesterday, so I can't check it any more :P
Hope you get the btc back soon ;)
Hi I'm sorry I am drowning in emails full of help requests. But are you sure you use: "cd" for change directory before the C:\Python27\Scripts directory? Can you check in the windows explorer if the folder exists? maybe you did not install python 2.7 right.
Hi, this is just what I was looking for :), thanks for making the video.
Following the steps, I ran into a problem with Python. There is no 'Scripts' directory in my C:\Python27\ directory, also no 'pip.exe'.
What installer should I use from the python website?
Thanks, that made the installation very easy. I'm trying different words and phrases in the token file.
Do you perhaps know if the password on the key file and the password that is needed when sending bitcoin in multibit classic (0.5.15) is the same?
I'm fairly sure I know what password I used to send bitcoin, but after a couple 100000 variations it still isn't the right one for the key file.
Thanks for watching my tutorial, if I was you, I would try one of these https://www.python.org/downloads/release/python-2713/
You can check my new tutorial on this subject: https://youtu.be/cTalt-Zo3yk
Hi Crypto Hack,
When you are in CMD in your C:\btcrecover-master folder (or as I had in this tutorial C:\Git\btcrecover)
type: C:\Python27\python btcrecover.py --help
This will get it started, later you can change --help into any command you wish.
so i have a bunch of problems right now i think. first being that for some reason when i try to pip instal PyCrypto it says "pip" is not recognized... so i cant install that now. i had the most updated python and got past that and realized that i didnt download PyCrypto so that why that didnt work. i decided to just get 2.7 like you and when i tried to install that this happened. also is Pylibscript and protobuf downloaded seperate or is it already downloaded from the btcrecovery file. finally i dont see the tokens folder in my btcrecovery file is this because i didnt do the pip install yet or is there something else wrong. Id appreciate a reply. Thanks.
You might find the information you need in my newest video on how to brute force your online blockchain wallet https://youtu.be/rMtW8vIHHek In this video we also download the wallet from the blockchain website.
Hi man , i am from NL too but i will keep it in English.. I Also lost my complete Multibit Hd wallet on a usb.. After a few years i found a copie on an other external HDD storage Now the thing is .. i found my wallet back with all the data. But i cannot remember my password or my wallet words. I hope this is something to solve. Thanks
Of course you can email me private at [email protected] If you don't know any parts of the password it is going to be a lot harder, because you need to set up btcrecover to test out all possibilities and that takes a lot op computer power. If you have btcrecover running you can find the wildcard list here https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover/blob/master/TUTORIAL.md scroll down one third of the page and find the wildcard you need and place that in your token.txt file instead of your passwords. I hope this can help you my friend.
Hi Bitcoin Daytrader , thank you for your help and quick respons. i will try this to change directory from where i start from in python27 . i see yours start from system32.. mine is start from user. This user is me and i am the administrator. I will try it one more time.. is it even possible when i don't remember any part of my passphrase / wallet words? If i not succeed , and you can help me maybe.. is there a change to mail you private..? Thanks
Hi Aventuro, I'm not yet familiar with that error code, I read somewhere that it might be because you do not have administrator permission on windows. Do you have this problem with all pip installs, or just with PyCrypto? There are other ways of installing python packages. I hope you can figure it out, if not I could try for you, but I recommend you doing it yourself. Greets
I did the same as you at the first of ur video and I think I did everything right. But part two I lost u when I download the btcrecover on the site. When I try to add that C:\Git\btcrecover>C:\python27\python btcrecover.py it says "can't open file 'btcrecover' : [Errno 2] No such file or directory". But I have that btcrecover.py file in the Git?!?!? I'm so confused all of this xD. I have about 1000 € in that ******* wallet and I cant remember password... If u have any change to help me with this video I will donate 100e for u..xDD #multibitffs
Good to hear that you figured it out. If you want to use Case letters (big letters) add to the command ( btcrecover.py -tokenlist token.txt etc.)
--typos-case --typos AMOUNT (1 or 2 or 3 depending on the amount of big letters you think you might used)
don't forget to use btcrecover.py --help if you are lost
Hi volvo, I used the folder Git on mij C drive, check in your windows explorer what the directory is where you unzipped the btcrecover, and standard when you unzip it, it is called btcrecover-master i think
