yes if you trust them and want others to do it, it might be better, but they just do this btcrecover/hashcat stuff for you and take a percentage of your coins

Hi forgot my seed phrase in metamask how to recover or any option
Bitcoin Daytrader (1 month ago)
Hi Vinod, thank you for checking out my tutorial! I've never used MetaMask, so I've been checking it out, (the browser Ethereum plugin) but I have no idea yet how you could do that. I don't know if you can use btcrecover for that, nut I am afraid you cannot. If you find any information on the topic please share it with us here. I hope you will find a way

very intesting , that's my concern with cryptos. With the emergence of quantuim computing or faster computers , could an attacker brute force all the private key combinaisons and create a software that would tell him those loaded with funds ? Of course , now It would take hundreds or millions of years, he would be dead before the PV is found , but what if computers keep getting faster .. ? Do you see this as a threat for cryptos ? What about people memorising a few words of the PV ?

you're right , and in addition I learnt that we can add a passphrase , which makes it so much more complicated to guess so yeah it's ok.

The amount of different possible Private Keys is around 10 x (10^78) if I am correct, a 10 with 78 zeros, that is around the same amount of atoms that there are in the universe. If pc's get 1 million times faster then that is only 10x (10^6) times faster for brute forces. That is still nothing compared to the amount of work it wil cost to generate every possible private key. The amount of different Mnemonic Codes (12 word backups) is 2048^12 = 5.4 x 10^39 (per Language, English, Chinese, Arabic) And every wallet with a Mnemonic Code has his own derivation path (so same Mnemonic Codes in different wallets could give different Private Keys) If one day the SHA256 encryption is outdated, I think that before that a newer version of bitcoin will be created (or any other altcoin) with better encryption. But I expect that we will not live to see that happen ;) But who knows, science can surprise us all

Thank you soo much for everything you are doing and trust me when i say i knew nothing about codings or directories but your tutorials made me undertsand more easily..But please the only problem i am having lately is Most of your tuturials are for windows and i am using a macbook pro 2017 which is really hard for me to handle with the terminal different from windows so will appreciate if you can help me out with this particular thread "Recover your 12 word backup phrase with btcrecover seedrecover" for Macbook and here is my email too [email protected] thank you and best of luck
KIngz World (2 months ago)
thank you very much and i sent you an email
Bitcoin Daytrader (2 months ago)
Hi Kingz, thanks for checking out my tutorials. I expected btcrecover to work almost the same as in windows since it is an Python27 based program. If you have all the dependencies, which was way simpler on MacOSX ( https://youtu.be/y2NdWNkBgCQ ), then I expect it to work almost the same. Have you tried to run from the btcrecover master folder: python seedrecover.py I hope this helps, if not email me a screenshot or something to [email protected] and we will figure it out.

Help Please I have some problem with my wallet passphrase is 100% correct I can see the balance, but when I enter the right passphrase to send the currency or change passphrase. This message appears Assertion failed! file: wallet/crypter.cpp, line 198
Bitcoin Daytrader (3 months ago)
Hey C K, Nice to see you again. That is awe-full news, it means that your wallet file is corrupt. This could happen when you copy paste a wallet while bitcoin is running, or force quit the program while active. Do you have a wallet backup? If not try to make one first. Have you tried to use the -salvagewallet option when booting the Bitcoin wallet? This option tries to collect as many Private Keys from the wallet as possible. (you are able to see your balance so it might be the case that the keys in the wallet.dat file are still fine.) You can try to do this by following this guide: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2487504.0 Or by running bitcoin-qt.exe in CMD and adding the -salvagewallet option, (1) Open CMD (2) type: cd C:\Program Files\Bitcoin (to Change Directory to the Bitcoin install folder) ( You should now be in the Bitcoin folder and see C:\Program Files\Bitcoin> ) (3) To run btc in salvagemode type: bitcoin-qt.exe -salvagewallet This is similar to running btcrecover in CMD, you can check the full list of boot options by running: bitcoin-qt.exe --help I hope that this will help you out, because this sounds terrible. Best of Luck my friend
