The Grateful Dead- Ripple

04:14
If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung, Would you hear my voice come thru the music, Would you hold it near as it were your own? It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken, Perhaps they're better left unsung. I don't know, don't really care Let there be songs to fill the air. Ripple in still water, When there is no pebble tossed, Nor wind to blow. Reach out your hand if your cup be empty, If your cup is full may it be again, Let it be known there is a fountain, That was not made by the hands of men. There is a road, no simple highway, Between the dawn and the dark of night, And if you go no one may follow, That path is for your steps alone. Ripple in still water, When there is no pebble tossed, Nor wind to blow. You who choose, to lead must follow But if you fall you fall alone, If you should stand then who's to guide you? If I knew the way I would take you home. La dee da da da, La da da da da, Da da da, Da da, Da da da da da La da da da, La da da, Da da, La da da da, La da, Da da. -RIP Jerry

These guy are amazing right now! 05/08/77 As I was walkin' 'round Grosvenor Square Not a chill to the winter but a nip to the air, From the other direction, she was calling my eye, It could be an illusion, but I might as well try, might as well try. She had rings on her fingers and bells on her shoes. And I knew without askin' she was into the blues. She wore scarlet begonias tucked into her curls, I knew right away she was not like other girls, other girls. In the thick of the evening when the dealing got rough, She was too pat to open and too cool to bluff. As I picked up my matches and was closing the door, I had one of those flashes I'd been there before, been there before. Well, I ain't often right but I've never been wrong. Seldom turns out the way it does in a song. Once in a while you get shown the light In the strangest of places if you look at it right. Well there ain't nothing wrong with the way she moves, Scarlet begonias or a touch of the blues. And there's nothing wrong with the look that's in her eyes, I had to learn the hard way to let her pass by, let her pass by The wind in the willow's playin' "Tea for Two"; The sky was yellow and the sun was blue, Strangers stoppin' strangers just to shake their hand, Everybody's playin' in the heart of gold band, heart of gold band.

Lyrics: Big boss man, can't you hear me when I call? Big boss man, can't you hear me when I call? You ain't so big, you just tall, that's just about all. You got me working boss man, a workin' around the clock, I want a little drink of whiskey, you sure won't let me stop. Big boss man, can't you hear me when I call? You ain't so big, you just tall, that's just about all. I'm gonna get me a boss man, one gonna treat me right, I work hard in the daytime, sure get drunk at night. Grateful Dead - Truckin'

05:09
Grateful Dead - Truckin' Garcia;Lesh;Weir;Hunter Lyrics:Truckin got my chips cashed in. keep truckin, like the do-dah man Together, more or less in line, just keep truckin on. Arrows of neon and flashing marquees out on main street. Chicago, new york, detroit and its all on the same street. Your typical city involved in a typical daydream Hang it up and see what tomorrow brings. Dallas, got a soft machine; houston, too close to new orleans; New yorks got the ways and means; but just wont let you be, oh no. Most of the cast that you meet on the streets speak of true love, Most of the time theyre sittin and cryin at home. One of these days they know they better get goin Out of the door and down on the streets all alone. Truckin, like the do-dah man. once told me youve got to play your hand Sometimes your cards aint worth a dime, if you dont layem down, Sometimes the lights all shinin on me; Other times I can barely see. Lately it occurs to me what a long, strange trip its been. What in the world ever became of sweet jane? She lost her sparkle, you know she isnt the same Livin on reds, vitamin c, and cocaine, All a friend can say is aint it a shame? Truckin, up to buffalo. been thinkin, you got to mellow slow Takes time, you pick a place to go, and just keep truckin on. Sittin and starin out of the hotel window. Got a tip theyre gonna kick the door in again Id like to get some sleep before I travel, But if you got a warrant, I guess youre gonna come in. Busted, down on bourbon street, set up, like a bowlin pin. Knocked down, it gets to wearin thin. they just wont let you be, oh no. Youre sick of hangin around and youd like to travel; Get tired of travelin and you want to settle down. I guess they cant revoke your soul for tryin, Get out of the door and light out and look all around. Sometimes the lights all shinin on me; Other times I can barely see. Lately it occurs to me what a long, strange trip its been. Truckin, Im a goin home. whoa whoa baby, back where I belong, Back home, sit down and patch my bones, and get back truckin on. Hey now get back truckin home.

Grateful Dead - Estimated Prophet

05:38
Lyrics: My time coming, any day, don't worry about me, no Been so long I felt this way, Im in no hurry, no Rainbows and down that highway where ocean breezes blow My time coming, voices saying they tell me where to go. Don't worry about me, nah nah nah, don't worry about me, no And Im in no hurry, nah nah nah, I know where to go. California, preaching on the burning shore California, I'll be knocking on the golden door Like an angel, standing in a shaft of light Rising up to paradise, I know Im gonna shine. My time coming, any day, don't worry about me, no Its gonna be just like they say, them voices tell me so Seems so long I felt this way and time sure passin slow Still I know I lead the way, they tell me where I go. Don't worry about me, no no no, don't worry about me, no And Im in no hurry, no no no, I know where to go. California, a prophet on the burning shore California, I'll be knocking on the golden door Like an angel, standing in a shaft of light Rising up to paradise, I know Im gonna shine. Youve all been asleep, you would not believe me Them voices tellin me, you will soon receive me Standin on the beach, the sea will part before me Fire wheel burning in the air! You will follow me and we will ride to glory, way up, the middle of The air! And I'll call down thunder and speak the same and my work fills the Sky with flame And might and glory gonna be my name and men gonna light my way. My time coming, any day, don't worry about me, no Its gonna be just like they say, them voices tell me so Seems so long I felt this way and time sure passin slow My time coming, any day, don't worry about me, no Don't worry about me, no no no, don't worry about me, no And Im in no hurry, no no no, don't worry about me, no.

Grateful Dead - St. Stephen

04:28
Garcia,Lesh,Hunter Lyrics: Saint stephen with a rose, in and out of the garden he goes, Country garden in the wind and the rain, Wherever he goes the people all complain. Stephen prospered in his time, well he may and he may decline. Did it matter, does it now? stephen would answer if he only knew how. Wishing well with a golden bell, bucket hanging clear to hell, Hell halfway twixt now and then, Stephen fill it up and lower down and lower down again. Lady finger, dipped in moonlight, writing what for? across the morning sky. Sunlight splatters, dawn with answer, darkness shrugs and bids the day good-bye. Speeding arrow, sharp and narrow, What a lot of fleeting matters you have spurned. Several seasons with their treasons, Wrap the babe in scarlet colors, call it your own. Did he doubt or did he try? answers aplenty in the bye and bye, Talk about your plenty, talk about your ills, One man gathers what another man spills. Saint stephen will remain, all hes lost he shall regain, Seashore washed by the suds and foam, Been here so long, hes got to calling it home. Fortune comes a crawlin, calliope woman, spinnin that curious sense of your own. Can you answer? yes I can. but what would be the answer to the answer man?

Grateful Dead - U.S. Blues (Studio Version)

04:40
U.S. Blues by the Grateful Dead from their 1974 studio album, The Grateful Dead From The Mars Hotel. The first part of the video is a short film I found called "200." It was made to be some sort of trippy propaganda in 1975 and was put out by the US Gov't Information Agency for the bicentennial. Vincent Collins did the animations for that video. I put the rest at the end together. Happy 4th of July, my friends! ~Sara

♥ I have seen where the wolf has slept by the silver stream I can tell by the mark he left, you were in his dream Ah child of countless trees Ah child of boundless seas What you are, what you're meant to be Speaks his name, though you were born to me Born to me, Cassidy ♥ ♥ Lost now on the country miles in his Cadillac I can tell by the way you smile, he is rolling back Come wash the night-time clean Come grow the scorched ground green Blow the horn, tap the tambourine Close the gap of the dark years in between You and me, Cassidy ♥ ♥ Quick beats in an icy heart Catch colt draws a coffin cart There he goes and now here she starts Hear her cry. ♥ Flight of the seabirds Scattered like lost words Wheel to the storm and fly! ♥ Faring thee well now Let your life proceed by its own designs Nothing to tell now Let the words be yours, I'm done with mine ♥ ♥ Flight of the seabirds Scattered like lost words Wheel to the storm and fly! Grateful Dead - Althea (Tribute by Von Cello)

07:30
A great acoustic cover version with cello, guitar, keys and drums. Watch in high quality! The images are of concerts and recording sessions involving the performers as well as psychedelic artwork and images of introspective women. This is a tribute to the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia who wrote this song that is so beloved by the Von Cello Band. This video is also educational in that it shows how the cello can fit seamlessly into the music of the Grateful Dead, something that Von Cello has been doing since he was a teenager. "Dead Cello" is an arrangement by Aaron Minsky (Von Cello) of four Grateful Dead classics published by Latham Music. On this song we have: Von Cello - cello and guitar Mark Paradis - vocals and guitar Scott Guberman - keyboards Marc Jaffee - drums Other musicians appearing in the video only: Gloria Carpenter - vocalist Johnny Chang - drummer Perry Siegel - guitarist (as a teen in the schoolyard photo with Von Cello) The images were supplied by google image searches. Any artist wanting credit please contact me. For more information about Von Cello go to: http://www.voncello.com

Cosmic Charlie how do you do Truckin' in style along the avenue Dum de dum de do da lee do Go on home your mama's calling you. Calico Cal, ya come tell me the news Calamity's waiting for a way to get to her Rosey red and electric blue I bought you a paddle for your paper canoe. Say you'll come back when you can Whenever your airplane happens to land Maybe I'll be back here too It all depends on what's with you. Woke up waiting for a windy day Cat on I (?) since the first of February Mama keeps saying that the wind might blow But standing here I say I just don't know. New ones come in as the old ones go Everything's moving here but much too slowly A little bit quicker and we might have time To say how do you do before we left behind. Calliope wail like a seaside zoo The very last lately inquired about you It's really very one or two The first you wanted the last I knew. I just wonder if you shouldn't feel less concerned about the people unreal The very first word is how do you do The last go home your mama's calling you. Calling you oo oo oo oo oo Calling you oo oo oo Calling you oo oo oo Calling you oo oo oo Calling you oo oo oo Go on home your mama's calling you Calling you oo oo oo Go on home your mama's calling you Calling you oo oo oo Go on home your mama's calling you Go on home your mama's calling you

Grateful Dead – U.S. Blues (Empire State Building Light Show)

04:41
You're watching the Empire State Building light up on July 4, 2015 when it was synchronized with the 'U.S. Blues' encore at the 2nd 'Fare Thee Well' 50th Anniversary show at Soldier Field. ESB lighting designer Marc Brickman teamed up with the band to create the vision and technical design of the music-to-light show, which featured an assortment of Grateful Dead imagery in the mast of the building on Independence Day. The Grateful Dead - Casey Jones(Lyrics)

04:37
Driving that train, high on cocaine, Casey Jones YOU BETTER, watch your speed. Trouble ahead, trouble behind, And you know that notion just crossed my mind. This old engine makes it on time, Leaves Central Station 'bout a quarter to nine, Hits River Junction at seventeen TWO, At a quarter to ten you know it's DRIVIN' again. Driving that train, high on cocaine, Casey Jones YOU BETTER, watch your speed. Trouble ahead, trouble behind, And you know that notion just crossed my mind. Trouble ahead, Lady in red, Take my advice you'd be better off dead. Switchman's sleeping, train hundred and two is On the wrong track and headed for you. Driving that train, high on cocaine, Casey Jones YOU BETTER, watch your speed. Trouble ahead, YOU KNOW, trouble behind, And you know that notion just crossed my mind. Trouble with you is the trouble with me, Got two good eyes but WE still don't see. Come round the bend, you know it's the end, The fireman screams and the engine just gleams... Driving that train, high on cocaine, Casey Jones YOU BETTER, watch your speed. Trouble ahead, trouble behind, And you know that notion just crossed my mind. Driving that train, high on cocaine, Casey Jones YOU BETTER, watch your speed. Trouble ahead, trouble behind, And you know that notion just crossed my mind. Driving that train, high on cocaine, Casey Jones you better watch your speed. Trouble ahead, you know, trouble behind. And you know that notion just crossed my mind. Driving that train, high on cocaine, Casey Jones you better watch your speed. Trouble ahead, you know, trouble behind. And you know that notion just crossed my mind. And you know that notion just crossed my mind.
