Inhale Himalayan Pink Salt For These Amazing Benefits

03:02
It’s not your normal table salt – the one you find in any table salt and pepper shakers. It’s Himalayan salt. This salt contains 84 natural elements and minerals that are already found in your body. Its minerals are microscopic – or ionic. Their size enables them to be easily absorbed by cells. Himalayan salt has anti-microbial, anti-fungal, and antibacterial properties. The U.S. is late to the table when it comes to Himalayan salt; Eastern Europe began to see its therapeutic purposes about 200 years ago. Those with lung problems visit salt mines for respiratory ailments. Even ancient Greeks realized the benefit of salt therapy. In today’s video we will discuss the benefits of Himalayan salt and how to use it in an inhaler. Benefits of a Salt Inhaler Breathing is effortless when we are in good health. But when your head and lungs are congested, breathing is no longer so easy. As a natural expectorant, salt can help reduce excess mucus, which will quiet your cough and allow you to get a restful night’s sleep. This type of salt inhalation therapy reduces swollen congested nasal passages and provides relief from allergies, hay fever and also eliminates harmful organisms. When you inhale, the natural moisture in the air absorbs the salt particles into your lungs. Remember, the ions are so tiny they will go directly into your lungs, bypassing the nasal filtering system. Once ions are absorbed by the lungs, they will enter the bloodstream and get to work reducing inflammation. Those with conditions like asthma, bronchitis or pneumonia often find relief within a few days. While many have experienced rapid results, it typically only brings noticeable relief after regular and consistent use. How to Use a Salt Inhaler First, you will need a ceramic inhaler – not a plastic one. Be sure to read the package directions. Place the Himalayan rocks inside the inhaler Do NOT add water; the inhaler is for dry therapy Insert the mouthpiece Breathe through your mouth normally and exhale through your nose. As you inhale, be sure to draw in deep breaths NOTE: Be sure to follow the directions for cleaning your inhaler. Also, remember that inhalers are not to be shared with anyone else. You can order a Himalayan Salt inhaler online. They may also be available in natural health food retail stores. Salt - more valuable than gold?

Sometimes, incredible facts are incredible because they are rubbish. I have lost count of the number of times I have been told that salt was once more valuable than gold. If it was, why didn't they use it to buy gold? Why were the areas with easy access to salt, like coasts, not just festooned in gold? Who is that intruder? sea salf vs table salt

05:59
Sea salt is obtained directly through the evaporation of seawater. It is not processed, Table salt, on the other hand, is mined from salt deposits and then processed to give it a fine texture.. Processing strips table salt of any minerals it may have contained, and additives are also usually incorporated to prevent clumping or caking.

Chronic Sinus Problems? Try the Bulletproof Sinus Rinse

06:29
For the full blog post, visit: https://blog.bulletproof.com/chronic-sinus-problems/ The best nasal irrigation I’ve found is a Bulletproof Sinus Rinse. Instead of a Neti Pot, get a large salad bowl and fill it with hot water (not so hot that it burns you, but fairly hot). Next, add salt; enough to make the solution isotonic (roughly ½ teaspoon for every cup of water). Salt water – the key ingredient in all these techniques – prevents bacterial growth, whereas regular water promotes it. The next ingredient you’ll add is a few drops of iodine, and, if you wish, xylitol. - Place your bowl on a counter and bend forward like a dippy bird. Don’t tip your head back or you’ll gag. Your spine should be parallel to the floor. - Now blink your eyes two or three times. The iodine will sterilize the lining in your eyes where there is a huge amount of bacteria that result in the inflammation of your immune system. This doubles as a way to beat hayfever by clearing the pollen and pollutants from your eyes. - Now, close your eyes and “drink” through your nose. The solution won’t go down your throat if you are at the proper angle; rather, it will collect in the back of your mouth. When your mouth is full, spit the water out in the sink, and repeat. On another day or at another time, try this version: use GSE (grapefruit seed extract) instead of iodine. You can keep using the xylitol. GSE is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial for fungus and bacteria. Do the Bulletproof Sinus Rinse regularly to break up the biofilms in your sinuses. It’ll reduce inflammation and clear your mind. When I started using this technique, I did it about 10 times a day, because my sinus congestion was so severe. Now, I only do it once or twice a week as maintenance. It changed my life.

Put Salt in the Corners of Your House, and See What Happens

09:40
What will happen if you pour salt in the corners of your house? Spoiler: it will change your life. Here are the most unusual and powerful uses for salt. What is going to happen to you if you spill salt? Duh, it will bring you bad luck. We are sure you heard that, and you might believe it, or not. But have you ever wondered where that superstition comes from? Some people believe it is because Judas Iscariot spilled it at the Last Supper. Others find a more practical explanation: spilling salt meant bad luck and future loss because it was expensive. Expensive and precious. Yes, you heard it right. And why would salt be that important to anyone? It has some magical powers you might have never heard of. TIMESTAMPS History of salt 1:12 Salt was used in different rituals 1:50 Reviving shower 4:04 Good luck charm 4:46 Money attraction 5:14 Support in a foreign environment 5:35 Wash off the negative energy 6:15 Protect your home from evil visitors 6:40 Cast out the evil objects 7:02 The “witch bottle” 7:32 Good luck, peace, and prosperity 8:30 Salt has been around for thousands of years. You might see it just as something you add to your meals to add some flavor to them, but it meant much more to our ancestors. Harvesting salt used to be a long and complicated process, so only the rich were able to afford it. Ancient Romans even paid their soldiers with it, and the army appreciated that. It helped them preserve food, so that was fair enough. If you look at the origins of the word “salary” you will even see something salt-like in it. Yes, it comes from the Latin word for “salt.” Did you know that? If not, “like” this video to show you have just learned something new. Okay, it is clear that salt was expensive and highly appreciated. But that is just one side of it. From very old times, it was used in different rituals because of its magical powers. Ancient Egyptians, for example, would not set on a journey without performing a ritual involving salt. They burnt it on hot coals to scare away the evil spirits. Then, and only then, the caravans got on their way across the desert. We hope these tricks will help you feel better and live in harmony. How to Clean the Salt Generator in Your Saltarium

http://www.salt-spot.com Salt Therapy is based on the natural therapy known as Speleotherapy (Greek: Speleon -- cave; therapy -- treatment) which uses subterranean salt caves or mines for therapeutic purposes. The healing atmosphere of salt caves and mines has been acknowledged for centuries. Since salt caves and mines are not conveniently accessible, their atmosphere has been recreated using the scientifically proven methods of Halotherapy (Greek: Halos -- salt; therapy -- treatment) which uses state-of-the-art halogenerators to create a salt microclimate. Halotherapy is a non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical treatment that relies on the natural anti-fungal, anti-bacterial properties of salt. 512.733.8838

Iridium - The MOST RARE Metal on Earth!

04:51
Chemical Elements: http://www.ebay.com /usr/novaelementscom?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 NOVAELEMENTS: https://www.novaelements.com/ Mel Science chemical sets: https://goo.gl/SxwFlQ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Thoisoi?ty=h Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thoisoi2 Interesting page about chemical experiments: http://m.chemicum.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thoisoi/ So today I will tell you about the most rare metal on Earth - iridium. Iridium is a transitional metal, which is located in the middle of the periodic table, below rhodium. If we take a look at the prevalence of all elements in the earth's crust, Iridium holds the last place, that is a billion atoms of all that there is and only one atom of iridium. This metal is 40 times rarer than gold. In much higher concentrations iridium is found in meteorites and also in the depths of the Earth, in magma. Interestingly enough, in the layers of rock sediments, though more precisely in the formation of clay, that is aged about 66 million years there were found high concentrations of iridium and this can indicate the collision of Earth with a huge meteorite in the past, which in theory was the cause of the death of the dinosaurs. In it’s appearance iridium is a shiny metal that does not oxidize in air. This metal has almost the highest density of all metals, just 0.12% lower than that of osmium - the most dense metal. In this tiny tiny metal droplet, which is of the size of a match head, we have 1 gram of iridium. To help you understand how high is the density of iridium, I will show other metals with the same mass for comparison. Lead, copper, gallium, zinc, magnesium, and the lightest metal - lithium. The volumes of the first and last metal differ by about 30 times, although their mass is the same. Iridium is also a very hard metal that is firmer than the solid steel in 1.5 (one and a half) times. Iridium, in addition to its rarity is even the most stable metal that does not oxidize in air up to 2000 degrees, and is not soluble in either acid or aqua regia. Iridium can only react with the fluorine at temperatures of about 600 degrees. Unfortunately, due to the low activity of iridium, I cannot conduct any chemical experiments or have quality reactions with it. The only thing that I can do is make a fine powder of iridium and set it on fire in the air, but as you can see, in this case iridium dust is burning quite slowly and also requires dispersing it in the air. For the first time on youtube, you can observe a burning iridium. Also, due to the low activity of iridium, the metal does not tarnish in air, even when heated to above 1,000 degrees. The only thing that the drop of iridium got covered with is a partially evaporated ceramic layer, the one that the forceps are made from. Iridium compounds are can be either brown or yellow, such as the complex of Vasca, which is used as a catalyst in organic chemistry. By the way, Iridium is the only element that can give away 9 electrons and form compounds with +9 (plus nine) oxidation state. Iridium now finds many uses in science and technology. In most cases, we will probably find iridium in spark plugs for vehicles, due to the high stability of iridium to oxidation under the influence of electric discharge. Pure iridium is used for making crucibles for growing single crystals, foil for making non-amalgam cathodes, as well as as a part of the highly resistant to corrosion alloys. The first standard of mass of one kilogram was created in 1889 using an alloy composition of 90% platinum and 10% iridium and is called the International Prototype Kilogram, it is still kept in the Paris Chamber of Weights and Measures. Now you know more about one more of the elements, if you would like the scientific series of the elements to continue, please subscribe to my channel and also throw in some likes if you can! Thank you for watching.

ROCK SALT - BANDARRA

00:53
My friend gave me this massive salt stone from a mine in Spain and it had been kicking around the house for quite a few months. I didn't know what to do with it or where to put to so I thought I'd shoot a timelapse of it dissolving in water. It creates some really interesting shapes as it dissolves and you can see the micro currents that the differences in salinity and density create. Khewra Salt Mine Visit Beautiful Pakistan

09:09
Copy of Wikipedia The Khewra mountain Salt Mine is also known as Mayo Salt Mine, in honour of Lord Mayo, who visited it as Viceroy of India.[12] The mine is a part of a salt range that originated about 800 million years ago, when evaporation of a shallow sea followed by geological movement formed a salt range that stretched for about 300 kilometers (185 miles).[8][13] The salt reserves at Khewra were discovered when Alexander the Great crossed the Jhelum and Mianwali region during his Indian campaign. The mine was discovered, however, not by Alexander, nor by his allies, but by his army's horses, when they were found licking the stones.[14] Ailing horses of his army also recovered after licking the rock salt stones.[15] During the Mughal era the salt was traded in various markets, as far away as Central Asia.[16] On the downfall of the Mughal empire, the mine was taken over by Sikhs. Hari Singh Nalwa, the Sikh Commander-in-Chief, shared the management of the Salt Range with Gulab Singh, the Raja of Jammu. The former controlled the Warcha mine, while the latter held Khewra. The salt quarried during Sikh rule was both eaten and used as a source of revenue.[citation needed] In 1872, some time after they had taken over the Sikhs' territory, the British developed the mine further.[8] They found the mining to have been inefficient, with irregular and narrow tunnels and entrances that made the movement of labourers difficult and dangerous. The supply of water inside the mine was poor, and there was no storage facility for the mined salt. The only road to the mine was over difficult, rocky terrain. To address these problems the government levelled the road, built warehouses, provided a water supply, improved the entrances and tunnels, and introduced a better mechanism for excavation of salt. Penalties were introduced to control salt smuggling.[17] While working with Geological Survey of India in the 1930s and 1940s, Birbal Sahni found evidence of angiosperms, gymnosperms and insects from the Cambrian period inside the mine.[18] Wordwide largest salt mine khewra!!! Pink Himalayan Salt and Why It's a Better Option

09:17
Pink Himalayan salt is a relatively new type of rock salt alternative to table salt varieties, gaining only recent popularity in the last decade or so. Sometimes called "pink salt", "crystal salt" or Himalayan sea salt, it is made from ancient salt deposits that have been preserved within the earth for millions of years. Most brands originate from the foothill regions of northern Pakistan, an area along the Salt Range where deep sedimentary salts are located. Considered one of the purest forms of salt available, unexposed to environment pollutants, it is commonly used today as a finely ground salt, but larger crystals or coarse pebbles can also be used as a salt water solution or "sole." Grow Purple Single Crystals of Salt at Home! DIY Home Decorations!

04:05
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thoisoi2 Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Thoisoi?ty=h Music: http://audiomicro.com Interesting chemical experiments: http://www.m.chemicum.com/ Hello everyone, in this video I'll show you how to grow a beautiful purple single crystal. For this we’ll need the following substances – potassium and chrome alum. To begin, let’s make a mixture of alum. To do this, take a glass and weight 100 gram of aluminum potassium sulfate and 12 grams of chromium potassium sulfate in it. Adding chrome alum will make the crystals violet. Then, pour 400 ml of a very hot water into the glass and stir until all the alum is dissolved. After it’s all dissolved, leave this glass for a few days to let the crystals form at the bottom. A day later pour the alum solution into another container. As you can see a lot of beautiful little fused together crystals were formed at the bottom of the glass. Now pick open the mass of the crystals and put them in a bowl. Choose from this mass the most beautiful and large crystal. This crystal will serve as a seed from which a large crystal will be grown in the future. The solution, which previously was merged can be now filtered but that is optional. Now tie the seed on a thin fishing line and hung it in a solution of alum on a pencil or a stick. Now we can only wait for the crystal to grow. Over time, water will evaporate from the solution and excess alum will form the crystal that is hanging onto the fishing line. After some time the crystal will begin to take a regular geometric shape that is defined by the crystal lattice of a substance. For alum it is octagonal or octahedron. Also, during the crystal growth excess crystals will grow as well on the bottom and the line of the glass, and they should be removed. Though it’s better to save these crystals as it is possible to prepare a solution and raise other crystals out of them in the future. Also, in single crystals growing it is important to avoid extremes of temperature and pollution of the solution. After 2 months my crystal become large enough and I decided that I can stop its growth. I pulled out the crystal from the solution and desiccated its surface with a napkin. Next I covered the crystal with colorless nail polish, one or two layers is usually enough. It is important to protect the crystal from further destruction. After the nail polish has been dried out it’s okay to take the crystals with bare hands. Crystal growing is very exciting activity that develops patience and mind. I raised two purple crystals. One is dark and the other one is more transparent and bright. Now, ladies and gentlemen, as we have done a long journey growing these crystals let's just enjoy their beautifulness without any further comments.

Vinegar, Salt, Dish Soap, Weed Killer

Vinegar, Salt, Dish Soap, Weed Killer. I use Vinegar salt and Dish washing Liquid for weed control. I can remember my dad using Vinegar, Salt, Dish Soap to kill poison ivy . You can ad lemon juice for more acid. The vinegar will kill the weeds , the dish soap is a binder , so it will stay on the leaves , and i believe the salt was to make it longer before the weeds grew back. I started the video on a Sunday and shot the last of it on a Thursday. I use a orchard sprayer , but a small spray bottle would work fine for small areas . wtbm123

How to Make Bismuth Crystals

03:33
Bismuth ingots can be purchased here (this is an affiliate link): http://ebay.to/1iwwqji Bismuth is non-toxic and has a number of very interesting properties. For best results I recommend using at least 4 or 5 pounds of bismuth for the surface crystallization method demonstrated in the video. The deeper the pool of bismuth is in the pan the better, because the crystals will have extra room to grow before they touch the bottom. The more you use the more impressive your results will be. Some of you that are familiar with other forms of crystal formation may be thinking I gave bad advice when I state in the video that you can move the crystals as they grow. Usual crystal growth requires a very still solution with no movement, and a very slow cool down period. I did quite a lot of experimenting with this method and found that bismuth does not behave quite the same way. Once the crystals have begun forming it does not seem to matter if they are moved so long as they remain submerged. Further structured growth happens regardless of disturbance once there is a point to nucleate from. You may also notice that I was not wearing gloves for a portion of the video, that was foolish of me. I was wearing eye protection the entire time. Leather gloves (not synthetic!) and lab goggles should always be worn in case of splashes or spills. If you would like to skip the process of making your own crystals, you can buy them already made here (another affiliate link): http://ebay.to/1BIvj2C Music: Minimal - Soundaround -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Check out my latest video: "How To View Invisible Air Currents With Lasers" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K94Cc21KEIA -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

In addition, macroscopic single crystals are usually identifiable by their geometrical shape, consisting of flat faces with specific, characteristic orientations. The scientific study of crystals and crystal formation is known as crystallography. The process of crystal formation via mechanisms of crystal growth is called crystallization or solidification. The word crystal is derived from the Ancient Greek word κρύσταλλος (krustallos), meaning both “ice” and “rock crystal”, from κρύος (kruos), "icy cold, frost". Examples of large crystals include snowflakes, diamonds, and table salt. Most inorganic solids are not crystals but polycrystals, i.e. many microscopic crystals fused together into a single solid. Examples of polycrystals include most metals, rocks, ceramics, and ice. A third category of solids is amorphous solids, where the atoms have no periodic structure whatsoever. Examples of amorphous solids include glass, wax, and many plastics... The scientific definition of a "crystal" is based on the microscopic arrangement of atoms inside it, called the crystal structure. A crystal is a solid where the atoms form a periodic arrangement. (Quasicrystals are an exception, see below.) Not all solids are crystals. For example, when liquid water starts freezing, the phase change begins with small ice crystals that grow until they fuse, forming a polycrystalline structure. In the final block of ice, each of the small crystals (called "crystallites" or "grains") is a true crystal with a periodic arrangement of atoms, but the whole polycrystal does not have a periodic arrangement of atoms, because the periodic pattern is broken at the grain boundaries. Most macroscopic inorganic solids are polycrystalline, including almost all metals, ceramics, ice, rocks, etc. Solids that are neither crystalline nor polycrystalline, such as glass, are called amorphous solids, also called glassy, vitreous, or noncrystalline. These have no periodic order, even microscopically. There are distinct differences between crystalline solids and amorphous solids: most notably, the process of forming a glass does not release the latent heat of fusion, but forming a crystal does. A crystal structure (an arrangement of atoms in a crystal) is characterized by its unit cell, a small imaginary box containing one or more atoms in a specific spatial arrangement. The unit cells are stacked in three-dimensional space to form the crystal. The symmetry of a crystal is constrained by the requirement that the unit cells stack perfectly with no gaps. There are 219 possible crystal symmetries, called crystallographic space groups. These are grouped into 7 crystal systems, such as cubic crystal system (where the crystals may form cubes or rectangular boxes, such as halite shown at right) or hexagonal crystal system (where the crystals may form hexagons, such as ordinary water ice)...

Ghana: Selling Iodized Salt in Accra

04:14
Emmanuel Paa Nii Quaye, GAIN Country Manager for Ghana, took this video of a van selling iodized salt in Dansoman, a suburb of Accra, Ghana. The salt being sold is U2 salt, although the salesmen are prepared to sell Nyanyano salt provided it is labelled and cheaper than U2 salt. Nyanyano salt is less refined than U2 salt and is produced on a smaller scale. Each day the sales agent is able to sell up to 25 bags, each containing 50 pieces. A sachet contains 500 grams of salt.
FUN with an OLD COIN! - Elementalmaker

In this video we will use some chemistry magic to turn an old quarter into something a bit more interesting! Starting with a old silver quarter which is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper. We first refine the coin into pure silver, and redissolve the silver bead into nitric acid forming silver nitrate. Its at this point that we bubble acetylene gas through the solution of silver nitrate to form Silver Acetylide, a powerful and dangerous primary that cracks loudly like a party snap when ingited. Do not attempt this one at home!

Salt panning equipment, Gujarat

01:07
A salt worker uses an outdated equipment with precision. Salt crystallization in progress by collecting crystallized salt embedded on the top layer of a sea water reservoir in the Little Rann of Kutch. Saltpans or sea water reservoir are a man made hyper saline ecosystem from which crude salt is extracted during summer. This is carried out before the salt crystals reach the bottom layer of the reservoir. Natural crystallization of salt is generally done by agents of evaporation. Crystallization of salt normally takes place in arid climates, as strong heat causes fast evaporation of water. The salt workers settle down in the desert for 8 months between October to May and their homes adjacent to the salt pans that they work on. Every year there homes are destroyed by the monsoon and they have to rebuild them during their working season. All the workers stay near their salt pans and work in harsh sun to extract salt in the Little Rann of Kutch. "Not many know that salt works begin where civilization ends that salt pans lie in coastal and desert areas under a pitiless scorching sun that some 150 000 salt workers in India and their families (perhaps half a million people in all) live for eight months a year in this harsh environment that's often devoid of basic amenities such as drinking water, schools, hospitals or markets; that they do the toughest of manual jobs, risking blindness, blood pressure, skin lesions, knee injury, back pain and exhaustion, and epidemics such as malaria; that most salt worker children are school dropouts, and are vulnerable to chronic cough and tuberculosis; that despite such living conditions, salt workers are paid low wages, and suffer vile exploitation at the hands of the many intermediaries in the saltbusiness, including money-lenders.Little wonder that they seek to drown their sorrows in alcohol or blow them away with smoke -- further aggravating their problems. Perhaps the cruel landscape of the Little Rann of Kutch in Gujarat best exemplifies the plight of India's salt workers. This area has a lot of underground saline water. Extracting salt from it is a business opportunity tapped by some 1 500 small and large salt pans, mainly in Surendranagar and Patan districts. Some 15 000 families -- merchants, agarias (salt workers cumentrepreneurs) labourers -- farm salt here during the September-March season. Many of them live here for eight months, setting up small grassroofed shacks. Little children grow up playing in salty water under the blazing sun, sometimes helping out their parents in the salt pans with sundry jobs." Source - http://www.bobpigo.org/bbn/march_06/P... Homemade Caramel Sauce ♥ How To

03:21
If you've ever wondered how difficult it is to make homemade caramels sauce, wonder no more. Turns out, it's not that difficult at all. Some time is involved and you do need a candy thermometer, but the recipe consists of only 4 ingredients, 5 if you count water. We may be in the midst of our fourth nor'easter here, but that shouldn't stop anyone from enjoying a healthy helping of warmed caramel sauce on ice cream, or even on sliced apples. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook. Laurice: https://twitter.com/LauricesKitchen and https://www.facebook.com/LauricesKitchen/ Gilly: https://twitter.com/LauricesKitche1 Homemade Caramel Sauce ½ cup, 118ml water 8½ ounces, 243g, white sugar ½ teaspoon kosher salt, if using table salt, use ¼ teaspoon 1 cup, 226ml, heavy cream, 36% butterfat or higher 1 teaspoon, 5ml, vanilla extract In a large saucepan, heat the water, sugar and salt, over medium heat stirring constantly until the mixture begins to simmer. Continue simmer without stirring until the mixture is a medium amber color. Swirl the pan to keep it heating evenly. Once the mixture is amber colored, reduce heat to medium-low and stir in the cream. Continue stirring until the mixture begins to boil again. Clip a candy thermometer to the pan and heat stirring constantly until the mixture reaches 225°F, 107°C. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla. Caramel sauce will be runny when hot and gradually firm up. Mine was still pourable after it was refrigerated. Crystal Healing in a Himalayan Salt Cave

04:58
http://www.hibiscusmooncrystalacademy.com We set out to explore The Salt Cave in Naples, FL @ http://www.saltcave.us The owner, Andrea is very nice & so informative. They have all sorts of therapies but we tried the 45 min. session in the "cave" with halotherpay, a type of crystal healing which utilizes halite (salt); taking place in a controlled air environment that simulates the special microclimate of actual salt caves & salt mines. Not only did we benefit from the negative ions of the halite but from the ancient healing effects of the salt. From their website: "According to the old facts, the medieval monks took the sick to the salt caves and let them breathe in the salt particles, which were created while the monks were crushing the stalactites. Speleotherapy is very popular in the former Soviet Union and numerous Eastern European countries, were the treatments have been practiced in old salt mines since the early 19th century. It is not only the purity of the air in the salt caves that have such healing effects, but also its resonant vibration, that activate our self-healing and self-regulating powers" "Salt is born of the purest parents: the sun & the sea." -- Pythagoras

Title: Amazing Benefits Of Himalayan Salt Lamp Himalayan salt lamps are claimed to do everything from easing anxiety and asthma to soothing eczema. But none of this is backed by research. Even if the negative ions salt lamps supposedly release have a beneficial effect on depression, the amount emitted is too small to matter. Lehman's also has a great selection of fermenting crocks, https://www.lehmans.com/search?w=fermenting+crock and a great fermentation accessories. I used Morton Canning and Pickling Salt & distilled water in my brine. Use wax free cucumbers when fermenting to avoid any problems. I usually ferment mine for at least 14 days, but can go as long as 30 day depending on your pallet. Make a brine by dissolving 5 tablespoons of salt (use your favorite salt as long as there is no Iodine in it) in 2 quarts of chlorine free water.

Do you prefer your salt fine or coarse?

With the new two step mill it's up to you if you want to grind your product finely or coarsely. If you wish finely ground salt then turn the mill as you usually do. If you want it coarse, then simply pull the lid and twist.
