Most Productive Dump Trucks for Hauling Asphalt / Paving Jobs

05:55
(281) 847-9304 https://www.superdumps.com/?rfs=yt Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/strongindustry/ More Videos: http://www.dumpvideos.com/?rfs=yt Increase your asphalt paving production by as much as 34%, and increase profits by even more, by using the most efficient and versatile dump truck that exists, the SuperDump® by Strong Industries. Super Dumps are unique in the asphalt hauling business, in that they combine big payloads with speed & maneuverability. Other straight dump trucks are limited by bridge laws as to how much weight they can carry, which limits their payloads each trip. So although trucks like tandem dumps and tri-axle dump trucks are quick, their payload are limited to about half what a Super Dump can deliver each trip. Dump trailers can haul big payloads like a Super Dump, but trailers are notoriously slow and cumbersome backing up to the paver and dumping their loads -- so slow that their bigger payloads are completely squandered by their painfully long dump times. As this video illustrates, a Super Dump is the best of both worlds: The payloads of trailers, with the quick turnaround times of a short straight truck. The result is maximum production at the asphalt paving site. And higher production rates at the sites means jobs are completed sooner, which means more jobs each week, each month, each year. So that asphalt pavers who use Super Dumps to haul their asphalt get more done, and maximize profits far beyond what's possible with other dump trucks.

Lean Manufacturing: Cycle Time Analysis, Variance Tracking & Eliminating Work Stoppages

08:45
http://www.driveyoursuccess.com The following video is a summary of a project that was run for a small manufacturer were we analyzed their production throughput, performed cycle time analysis and review while also tracking the variances in those cycle times. We use three methods to calculate average in cycle time analysis for this and other projects. These three are the mean, the mode and the median. The video explains how to calculate manufacturing cycle time averages in these three aforementioned ways. The mean is the one we always associate as average. This simply involves taking all the cycle times in a given sample portion and dividing it by the number of operations or cycle times captured. The next method of the mode manufacturing cycle time which is simply the cycle time that appears most frequently during the sample portion. Ultimately, the mode is often the one where the work stoppages and downtime are not a factor. As such, it's often the best benchmark for cycle time analysis. Finally, the median involves re-configuring all the times from lowest to highest and using the following calculation to identify the average time: Median { ( N + 1 ) / 2 } where N is the number of operations. In this case, it's 10 +1 = 11 divided by 2 which is 5.5. Therefore, we isolate the cycle time in-between the 5th and 6th time. Finally, all of these cycle times are placed on a graph in order to identify the variances in cycle times and high and low points. The idea is to isolate the root causes of high and low cycle times while putting a plan in motion to eliminate causes of work stoppages. For access to the excel spreadsheet where this example comes from, please click on the link below. http://www.driveyoursuccess.com/2012/01/cycle-time-tracking-variance-analysis-in-excel-for-small-manufacturers.html

Cisco Connected Mining Cloud Demonstration

04:22
Steve Matthews demonstrates how a combination of Cisco industrial technologies and industry leading data analytics software can be used to improve productivity at mine sites. The demonstration shows how telemetry data from a mining truck is analysed and when a puncture in a tyre is detected, a number of actions are initiated including: 1) Alerting a tyre engineer by telephone, IM and SMS (Cisco Voice) 2) A work ticket is created in SAP and issued to the engineer (Cisco CEBT) 3) A collaboration session is created in SAP StreamWorks and Cisco WebEx (Cisco CEBT) We also demonstrate how the same system can be used to provide telemetry and control feedback such as switching on a pump and re-inflating the tyre remotely or if the puncture is serious we can remotely stop the truck. Note, this is a personal video and is not endorsed by Cisco. Opinions expressed are those of the participants and not of Cisco.

Robots break new ground in construction industry

06:18
(20 Mar 2018) LEADIN: Robots are coming to a construction site near you. Tech startups are developing self-driving bulldozers, survey drones and bricklaying robots to help the construction industry boost productivity and manage a shortage of skilled labour. STORYLINE: The newest member of this bricklaying crew is not a human but a robot. SAM, short for Semi-Automated Mason, can lay around 3,000 bricks a day - several times more than someone working by hand. The masonry firm helping to build this new elementary school turned to New York-based Construction Robotics, the creator of SAM, because it can't keep up with demand. "The drive behind this was to look at some technology to be able to allow me to do more volume and keep my current customers happy by doing more of their work," says Todd Berich, president of Berich Masonry. "Because right now, I have to tell them no, because we're at capacity." Built Robotics is developing technology that allows heavy construction vehicles - like this compact track loader - drive themselves. The San Francisco startup was founded by Noah Ready-Campbell, a former Google engineer who grew up working in his dad's construction business. He believes autonomous machines will make construction faster, cheaper and safer. "If we can reduce the cost of excavation, grading, site prep, then we can actually accomplish more of the work that we need to do in this country," he says. The rise of construction robots comes as the building industry faces a severe labour shortage. "To get qualified people to handle a loader, or a haul truck, or even run a plant, they're hard to find right now. Or mechanics to maintain this equipment," says Mike Moy, assistant plant manager at Lehigh Hanson. "Nobody wants to get their hands dirty anymore. They want the nice, clean job in an office and make lots of money doing that." At this mining plant, Moy uses a drone to survey piles of rock and sand his company sells for construction. The autonomous drone can survey the entire 90-acre site in 25 minutes - a job that used to take a whole day with a truck-mounted laser system. The drone is made by Silicon Valley-based Kespry, which converts the survey data into detailed 3D maps. "Not only is it safer and faster, but you get more data, as much as ten to a hundred times more data," says Kespry CEO George Mathew. Analysts say the construction industry needs more technological innovation to boost productivity, build affordable housing and fix aging infrastructure. "We need all of the robots we can get, plus all the workers working in order to have economic growth," says Michael Chui from McKinsey Global Institute. "But what that means is, as machines start to do some of the work that people used to do, the people have to migrate and transition to other forms of work, which will mean lots of retraining." Berich Masonry workers spent several weeks learning how to operate SAM, the bricklaying robot, which requires two or three people to run. "It's not replacing them," says Zak Podkaminer from Construction Robotics "They still have all the masons on this job site that they normally would have. They're just going to be able to get off this job site quicker and get to the next one sooner." Humans and robots working together to reshape the construction industry. Direct Feed Trailer Gets High Productivity in Tight Space - Part 1

00:47
1 South Market is a new high-rise residential tower being built in downtown San Jose. As with most projects in downtown settings, this project lacks the real estate to stockpile equipment or materials making the utilization of space vital in the planning of every job task. One of the tasks that Conco had to undertake was to backfill 2,900 tons of crushed rock in three 8-hour days. With the congestion of a busy worksite, there was no margin for error as delays in placing the material would impact other job tasks. In order to do this, Conco brought in its Direct Feed trailer to do the job. The Direct Feed trailer allows a Superdump, Transfer, End Dump or 10-Wheeler to dump directly into the hopper attached to the trailer. Material is then fed from the hopper onto one of Conco's Telebelts. The Telebelt then places the material directly to the point of placement. With this system, there is no need to stockpile material on the jobsite and handle it twice via a loader or bobcat. As the material is discharged directly from the back of a truck, it is also quicker and less labor intensive than using a loader. Reliable Trucking provided the Super Dumps for this project and the job was completed well within the timeframe provided. Once completed, there was minimal cleanup as all the material was dumped directly into the hopper leaving nothing to sweep up in the street.

A Commitment to the Mining Industry - Chinese (中国版本)

08:33
Today, the demand for mined materials is greater than at any other time in history. World development and increased urbanization are driving sustained dependence on minerals, metals and coal. Energy usage is expected to increase significantly in the coming decades—placing even more emphasis on supply, security, cost and environmental impact issues. As the demand for commodities grows, mining companies need a partner to support them in their efforts. A partner who understands the issues important to the mining industry — like safety, sustainability and productivity. And a partner with the equipment, technologies, end-to-end services and solutions to support their operations. Caterpillar is committed to being that partner.

Peter Van Doren joins us this week for a discussion on how wages are determined in a market economy. Is there a correlation between a worker’s productivity and the value they provide for society? Why has CEO pay increased so much lately? Should the government have a role in fixing unequal or unfair wages? Show Notes and Further Reading Van Doren mentions this blog post by Robert Lawrence on the gap between real wages and labor productivity. https://piie.com/blogs/realtime-economic-issues-watch/growing-gap-between-real-wages-and-labor-productivity See also this link for the same discussion (only with Canadian data) on the terms of trade between what workers make and what they consume. http://www.csls.ca/reports/csls2008-8.pdf Here are papers by Kevin Murphy and Steven Kaplan on CEO pay. https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=2041679 https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=2134208 Van Doren also mentions The Homevoter Hypothesis: How Home Values Influence Local Government Taxation, School Finance, and Land-Use Policies by William Fischel. https://www.amazon.com/Homevoter-Hypothesis-Influence-Government-Taxation/dp/0674015959 Download the .mp3 of this episode: http://bit.ly/2jBkWeQ Subscribe through iTunes: https://bitly.com/18wswtX Subscribe through Google Play Music: http://bit.ly/1VLM4sh Free Thoughts RSS feed: http://bit.ly/1q2vZQP

Mining Stakeholders Agreed on a Wayforward

02:14
South African mining stakeholders agreed to work together in a fight against job losses in the mining industry and also to safe mines from economic downfall. This emerged at the end of the National Mining Consultative Forum on the Framework Agreement for a Sustainable Mining Industry convened by President Jacob Zuma on Tuesday in Pretoria. Representatives from government, business and organised labour says they have recommitted to implement the Declaration signed on 31st August 2015 to save jobs and alleviate the impact of job losses in the mining industry. Addressing a media briefing held at the end of their meeting, the stakeholders emphasised on the need to strengthen the full functionality of Future Forums which have been formed to mitigate the negative impact of downscaling. Furthermore they also agreed on the need to expand economic opportunities in the labour sending areas, and to fast-track economic development and economic diversification projects in mining towns and labour sending areas. Although the meeting took place at a critical time when the global, local economy and the mining industry in particular are confronting major challenges; both role-players says the forum was fruitful, productive and successful in the quest for solutions to challenges facing the mining sector.

Minister of Economy of Chile, speaks at Columbia NYC Campus: Productivity for Inclusive Growth

01:09:51
After the turn of the millennium 90% of OECD countries experienced a decline in trend labor productivity growth. This decline in productivity growth has played out against a global backdrop of rising, or persistently high, inequalities of income, wealth and well-being. In 2014 Chile, an OECD country member, launched a comprehensive Productivity Agenda. The overriding aim behind this was to broaden the productive base of the economy to generate strong and sustainable future productivity gains, whilst also ensuring that productivity growth benefits all parts of society, in terms of improved living standards and opportunities. Minister Céspedes will discuss the main pillars of the Agenda, and how Chile is working to enhance its productivity to generate more inclusive growth. Co-sponsored by the Center on Global Economic Governance, the Program in Economic Policy Management (PEPM) at Columbia SIPA, and the Columbia Global Centers | Santiago.

2017 Personality 17: Biology and Traits: Agreeableness

49:26
In this lecture, I talk about the Big Five trait agreeableness, which is the dimension of the care system, in Jaak Panksepp's terminology. It can be construed as cooperation vs competition, or compliance vs non-compliance, or tender-mindedness vs tough-mindedness. It is also an important determinant of political belief, being the trait most associated with the body of ideas that has come to be known as politically correct. Agreeable people tend to view the political world as innocent infant vs reptilian predator. Perhaps this is good for you (although probably not) if you are placed in the innocent infant category, but it is not so good if you are deemed reptilian predator :) Want to support this channel? For the first time, Model 3 production (28,578) exceeded combined Model S and X production (24,761), and we produced almost three times the amount of Model 3s than we did in Q1. Our Model 3 weekly production rate also more than doubled during the quarter, and we did so without compromising quality. GA4, our new General Assembly line for Model 3, was responsible for roughly 20% of Model 3s produced last week, with quality from that line being as good as our regular GA3 line. We expect that GA3 alone can reach a production rate of 5,000 Model 3s per week soon, but GA4 helped to get us there faster and will also help to exceed that rate. Tesla expects to increase production to 6,000 Model 3s per week by late next month. We also reaffirm our guidance for positive GAAP net income and cash flow in Q3 and Q4, despite negative pressures from a weaker USD and likely higher tariffs for vehicles imported into China as well as components procured from China. Q2 deliveries totaled 40,740 vehicles, of which 18,440 were Model 3, 10,930 were Model S, and 11,370 were Model X. Model S and X deliveries are in line with our guidance provided on May 3. As we previously noted, we are in the process of changing the quarterly production pattern of those vehicles for the various worldwide regions to ensure a more linear flow of deliveries through the quarter. Both orders and deliveries for Model S and X were higher in Q2 than a year ago. Our overall target for 100,000 Model S and Model X deliveries in 2018 is unchanged. 11,166 Model 3 vehicles and 3,892 Model S and X vehicles were in transit to customers at the end of Q2, and will be delivered in early Q3. The high number of customer vehicles in transit for Model 3 was primarily due to a significant increase in production towards the end of the quarter. The remaining net Model 3 reservations count at the end of Q2 still stood at roughly 420,000 even though we have now delivered 28,386 Model 3 vehicles to date. When we start to provide customers an opportunity to see and test drive the car at their local store, we expect that our orders will grow faster than our production rate. Model 3 Dual Motor All Wheel Drive and Model 3 Dual Motor All Wheel Drive Performance cars will also be available in our stores shortly. The last 12 months were some of the most difficult in Tesla’s history, and we are incredibly proud of the whole Tesla team for achieving the 5,000 unit Model 3 production rate. It was not easy, but it was definitely worth it. Our delivery count should be viewed as slightly conservative, as we only count a car as delivered if it is transferred to the customer and all paperwork is correct. Final numbers could vary by up to 0.5%. Tesla vehicle deliveries represent only one measure of the company’s financial performance and should not be relied on as an indicator of quarterly financial results, which depend on a variety of factors, including the cost of sales, foreign exchange movements and mix of directly leased vehicles. Forward-Looking Statements Certain statements herein, including statements regarding future production and delivery of Model S, Model X and Model 3, expected cash flow and net income results, and growth in demand for our vehicles, are “forward-looking statements” that are subject to risks and uncertainties. These forward-looking statements are based on management’s current expectations. Various important factors could cause actual results to differ materially, including the risks identified in our SEC filings. Doran MTR360 tyre pressure monitoring system for Outback Truckers

03:08
Tire blowouts for the world’s toughest truckers are now a thing of the past with LSM Technologies MTR360 TPM System combined with SafetyTrax Web Based Trending, Reporting, Alerting System for Australian Multi combination vehicles. These are the perfect tyre saving device for Outback Truckers. LSM Technologies also have a range of tyre pressure monitors for Caravans, Fifth Wheelers, Motorhomes and motorcycles. One the biggest advantages on top of the labour savings they provide is they can prevent tyre fires from wheel bearing failure. How they do this is by warning the operator there is an overheat problem in a wheel assembly a long time before a tyre fire starts. The system also suits American 18 wheeler units. Increased Safety: Avoids catastrophic tyre failure, tyre fires and potential accidents- especially with the "fast leak" alert warning and tyre temperature monitoring. Also optimum set- point pressures provides better Rig handling, control and braking. Tyre Service Life / Fuel Economy: Maintaining optimum set- point pressures through SafetyTrax monitoring means tyres last longer and optimises fuel economy. Cost downs / Productivity: Checking 32 tyres on a B-Double or 64 tyres on roadtrain would cost at least 2 hours of labour. Using the SafetyTrax Web Based System, tyres that require attention can be identified and targeted for re- pressurisation, saving enormous costs and increased production time. A great bonus for Outback Truckers. Damage Control: Tyre fires, catastrophic failure are enormous costs- not just for the tyres, but also for the rims, the vehicle and also lost time for incident reporting and repairs. Recording / Trending / Alerting: The MTR360 provides the Operator with immediate notification of High Pressure, Low Pressure, Fast leak, High Temperatures so that they can take the appropriate corrective action during operation. With the SafetyTrax Web Based Monitoring, all such alerts are recorded and can be sent via email or SMS. In addition, records of Tyre condition can be provide to site personnel / customers as safety validation. Trending of historical data provides extensive analysis on tyre condition, pressures and temperatures. LSM Technologies MTR360 TPMS and SafetyTrax Systems has the capability to monitoring both Pressures and Temperatures for the Prime-Mover and up to 8 x Trailer / Dolly's with a combination of up to 180 Tyres. LSM Technologies On-line / Web Based SafetyTrax Monitoring / Reporting / Trending System provides live Pressure / Temperature monitoring, recording, reporting and alarm notification capabilities. Stupid Teachers Allergic to Productivity and Technology

08:15
The vid examines how MP3 players are a productivity tool that should be utilized by teachers and students. ** Part of Draft Script ** I have often said public school teachers are idiots, so I get criticized by those who rant, All you do is whine, complain, and point fingers but have nothing constructive to say. Although I disagree, I am taking that criticism to heart. In this video, I will be breaking it down to a more concrete level so that even a conceptually-challenged pragmatic educrat can follow along. I recently bought myself an MP3 Player. Nothing special, it is just a 2 GB Creative Zen Mozaic, which I got for about $50. Previously, I have bought four IPods for the girls, but none for me. Consider what would happen if I was a student and took it to a high school, and for this discussion I am focusing on the secondary education level. Teachers hate electronic toys so mine would probably end up confiscated and added to the teachers collection of booty. How is it that teachers do not love such a productivity tool? I submit that it is because the teachers are too stupid to know how to use them. It is not an issue of manipulating the device, but of extracting the productivity lift that the device offers. I have had my player for a few weeks. So far I have listened to about 60 hours of lectures, interviews, and conversations on topics including science, literature, politics, art, philosophy, history, and business. At the moment, my player is full of several years of expert lectures provided by the Stanford Business School. Currently, I am listening to an interview about entrepreneurship with the founder of Facebook, who was a Harvard student when he started his business. My inventory of recent podcasts from the University of Chicago, Columbia, Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, MIT, and University of Virginia is such that I have yet to crack the thousands of book titles available for download checkout from my local library. When I was in school, I would supplement each of my classes with two to five recorded books. Sometimes in preparing for an upcoming semester, I would have already consumed, via audio, texts that would be assigned for the class. All of this productivity increase was from multi-tasking less productive time like commuting or shopping. At the store, I do not complain about waiting for the girls to pick whatever, if I can add value to that time by having Leonard Peikoff in my ear explaining an application of philosophy. An idiot teacher might say, Kids wont do that. Given the option of listening to Shakespeare on the bus ride to and from school instead of reading him at home, kids will not do the former? The same kids who would rather watch the movie than read the play? Really? Imagine if teachers podcasted their lectures. Sick kids would not miss out. Students could replay the material later for better understanding. [Think back to all those kids that wanted to record the lectures back in the day.] Classroom notes could be validated as needed when studying for the exam. Parents could listen to the podcasts so that they could better help the kids with their homework. Students might actually learn more, with the big assumption that there was anything of value in the lecture. An idiot teacher might say, But my little monsters would not do that. First, that teacher should examine what is wrong with them. Second, additional sources of information could be leveraged to bring students requiring remediation up to speed. Third, this provides opportunities for teachers to supplement the learning of their best students to help them get even further ahead. While the class plods through Hamlet, some can supplement by listening to additional plays either by Shakespeare or subsequent writers exploring similar themes.

Mandatory Drill Rig Training Sought By IUOE Local 793

14:27
Local 793 is seeking mandatory training for operators of rotary drill rigs in Ontario. The union also wants training standards adopted by the province, requiring operators of drill rigs to have an Ontario Hoisting Engineer 339A or 339C licence, or 0-8-ton mobile crane certification, depending on the torque specifications of the equipment. An industry committee of contractors, manufacturers and labour representatives worked with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) to come up with a modular training standard for rotary drill rig operators in Ontario. Local 793 believes the changes are necessary in order to protect drill rig operators as well as other construction workers and the public.

Ronald Reagan: First Inaugural Address (1 of 3)

08:32
Senator Hatfield, Mr. Chief Justice, Mr. President, Vice President Bush, Vice President Mondale, Senator Baker, Speaker O'Neill, Reverend Moomaw, and my fellow citizens. To a few of us here today this is a solemn and most momentous occasion, and yet in the history of our nation it is a commonplace occurrence. The orderly transfer of authority as called for in the Constitution routinely takes place, as it has for almost two centuries, and few of us stop to think how unique we really are. In the eyes of many in the world, this every-four-year ceremony we accept as normal is nothing less than a miracle. Mr. President, I want our fellow citizens to know how much you did to carry on this tradition. By your gracious cooperation in the transition process, you have shown a watching world that we are a united people pledged to maintaining a political system which guarantees individual liberty to a greater degree than any other, and I thank you and your people for all your help in maintaining the continuity which is the bulwark of our republic. The business of our nation goes forward. These United States are confronted with an economic affliction of great proportions. We suffer from the longest and one of the worst sustained inflations in our national history. It distorts our economic decisions, penalizes thrift, and crushes the struggling young and the fixed-income elderly alike. It threatens to shatter the lives of millions of our people. Idle industries have cast workers into unemployment, human misery, and personal indignity. Those who do work are denied a fair return for their labor by a tax system which penalizes successful achievement and keeps us from maintaining full productivity. But great as our tax burden is, it has not kept pace with public spending. For decades we have piled deficit upon deficit, mortgaging our future and our children's future for the temporary convenience of the present. To continue this long trend is to guarantee tremendous social, cultural, political, and economic upheavals. You and I, as individuals, can, by borrowing, live beyond our means, but for only a limited period of time. Why, then, should we think that collectively, as a nation, we're not bound by that same limitation? We must act today in order to preserve tomorrow. And let there be no misunderstanding: We are going to begin to act, beginning today. The economic ills we suffer have come upon us over several decades. They will not go away in days, weeks, or months, but they will go away. They will go away because we as Americans have the capacity now, as we've had in the past, to do whatever needs to be done to preserve this last and greatest bastion of freedom. In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem. From time to time we've been tempted to believe that society has become too complex to be managed by self-rule, that government by an elite group is superior to government for, by, and of the people. Well, if no one among us is capable of governing himself, then who among us has the capacity to govern someone else? All of us together, in and out of government, must bear the burden. The solutions we seek must be equitable, with no one group singled out to pay a higher price. We hear much of special interest groups. Well, our concern must be for a special interest group that has been too long neglected. It knows no sectional boundaries or ethnic and racial divisions, and it crosses political party lines. It is made up of men and women who raise our food, patrol our streets, man our mines and factories, teach our children, keep our homes, and heal us when we're sick--professionals, industrialists, shopkeepers, clerks, cabbies, and truck drivers. They are, in short, "we the people," this breed called Americans. Well, this administration's objective will be a healthy, vigorous, growing economy that provides equal opportunities for all Americans, with no barriers born of bigotry or discrimination. Putting America back to work means putting all Americans back to work. Ending inflation means freeing all Americans from the terror of runaway living costs. All must share in the productive work of this "new beginning," and all must share in the bounty of a revived economy. With the idealism and fair play which are the core of our system and our strength, we can have a strong and prosperous America, at peace with itself and the world. (continued)

Emeralds : Shape - Size - Color - Clarity and Sourcing

02:13
Emerald mining is an interesting process. Emeralds typically attach to other rock formations and are not found as standalone rough gemstone. Emerald mining is often done by hand because technology and machinery can increase heavy pressure on the rock formations and break apart heavily included emeralds. Typically, emeralds are mined in pits and rock is blasted into larger pieces. Those pieces may or may not have emerald (natural beryl) and that is hauled away for removal and ultimately for manufacturing. Four Mine Emeralds are typically mined in Colombia, Zambia and Brazil. Each region is known to produce high quality emeralds with less inclusions and a more vivid green color (fewer undertones). At times, emeralds mine origin can even be identified just by color. We work directly with manufacturers and miners in these local communities that support safe environmental practices, community building human rights protections. Emerald mining is a major support structure for towns around the world. Investment in mining supports school, public facilities and hospitals. Our responsibility and commitment is ultimately to the locations that produce high quality gemstones. We work with suppliers to ensure fair labor practices and laws are followed. We've even directly visited mines to ensure direct sourcing and supplier reliability. Emeralds are a common alternative to diamonds for engagement rings. Apart from being unique, they are considered a sophisticated, rich and royal gemstone. Because Emeralds are more rare than diamonds, they're not a consistent source for fueling conflict. This is great because it ensures your gemstone is conflict free and your love is not tainted. emerald attached to rock in a natural environment as it is mined from the earth Emerald Certification Because they're a precious gemstone, it can be important to identify the quality of emeralds. Certification of emeralds will confirm whether your emerald is natural or nonnatural. Typically, you do not need to certify emeralds under 6.5mm size, subject to a trusted jeweler. Because there is no quality grading scale that exists for emeralds, the value of certification is reduced. Certification can confirm the emerald's origin and nature, which may be important to someone. Reputable grading laboratories include GIA, AGS and AGL. Four Mine gemologists are trained by GIA and verify the emerald's nature. We independently certify and check every gemstone in our jewelry. We also only source the top 1% of quality. You'll immediately notice that our gemstones are a deeper green and less included. Rather than going the route of certification, which can cost hundred per carat (certification costs are based on the size of the emerald), certified appraisals can accomplish similar goals. Advances in tools and technologies make it possible for skilled gemologists to identify the nature of a gemstone. We recommend natural emeralds over synthetic emeralds. Fake or nonnatural emeralds will never look the right tone of green and are often treated too much to bring out color. Additionally the lack of inclusions actually can make an emerald look less attractive. The natural nature of inclusion provide an identification and exciting appeal associated with emeralds. Additionally, emeralds are a symbol of love and commitment. A synthetic gemstone is seldom recommended as a means to strengthen a natural relationship.

The Third Industrial Revolution: A Radical New Sharing Economy

01:44:59
The global economy is in crisis. The exponential exhaustion of natural resources, declining productivity, slow growth, rising unemployment, and steep inequality, forces us to rethink our economic models. Where do we go from here? In this feature-length documentary, social and economic theorist Jeremy Rifkin lays out a road map to usher in a new economic system. A Third Industrial Revolution is unfolding with the convergence of three pivotal technologies: an ultra-fast 5G communication internet, a renewable energy internet, and a driverless mobility internet, all connected to the Internet of Things embedded across society and the environment. This 21st century smart digital infrastructure is giving rise to a radical new sharing economy that is transforming the way we manage, power and move economic life. But with climate change now ravaging the planet, it needs to happen fast. Change of this magnitude requires political will and a profound ideological shift.
