My $1,000,000 Stock Portfolio: Investing Strategy & Philosophy

27:49
Join Affiliate Marketing Mastery: http://affiliatemarketingmastery.com/training Over the last few years, I’ve been publicly sharing in my Monthly Goals Reports the progress that I’ve made financially in my online businesses, as well as my investing progress to a $1,000,000 stock investment portfolio within my holding company. I’ve had many people ask: “What is your investment strategy and philosophy?” While I’m by no means an “expert” on the topic of investing, I can share what I’ve personally done and what has been working for me. There are many other people that are more qualified and ideal to follow than myself. However, through my transparency, perhaps you can learn from some of my successes and wins, and it can give you a behind-the-scenes look at what a $1,000,000 investment portfolio looks like. Before you watch the video, a few things to note: This isn’t my entire portfolio. This is just within my holding company. I own personal investments as well, that include cash, stocks, bonds and a real estate rental property. When you make a lot of money in your business, you’ll want to create a “holding company” to protect and hold your money, which gives you flexibility when it comes to investing and for tax purposes. I live in Canada and I invest in the TSX (Toronto Stock Exchange). The primary currency I trade in is Canadian dollars and primarily investing in the Canadian economy, as I understand it the most. However, I do have investments in U.S. dollars and outside of Canada as well. I’m no “expert” by any means. I’m just someone that has learned through reading books, having mentors, and through my own trial and error. There are still many things in the investment world that I don’t understand. However, if you can benefit or learn from my transparency then that’s great! ★☆★ VIEW THE BLOG POST: ★☆★ http://projectlifemastery.com/my-1000000-stock-portfolio-investing-strategy-philosophy/ ★☆★ SUBSCRIBE TO ME ON YOUTUBE: ★☆★ http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=projectlifemastery ★☆★ FOLLOW ME BELOW: ★☆★ Blog: http://www.projectlifemastery.com Facebook: http://www.projectlifemastery.com/facebook Twitter: http://www.projectlifemastery.com/twitter Instagram: http://projectlifemastery.com/instagram Snapchat: http://projectlifemastery.com/snapchat Podcast: http://www.projectlifemastery.com/itunes ★☆★ MY PRODUCTS & COURSES: ★☆★ Morning Ritual Mastery: http://www.morningritualmastery.com Kindle Money Mastery: http://www.kmoneymastery.com 24 Hour Book: http://www.24hourbook.com Kindle Optimizer: http://www.koptimizer.com ★☆★ WANT TO BE COACHED BY ME? ★☆★ You can apply for my 1-on-1 and group coaching programs here: http://projectlifemastery.com/coaching ★☆★ RECOMMENDED RESOURCES: ★☆★ http://www.projectlifemastery.com/resources #projectlifemastery

Death by Leveraged ETFs - Warning About Exchange Traded Funds!

05:43
Exchange traded funds (ETFs) are just like stocks, but there is a major problem with them. Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/user/PeterLeedsPennyStock Do not buy or sell any ETF until you watch this warning. Subscribe to our channel, to learn more about investing, penny stocks, and profits from high-quality, low-priced shares: https://www.youtube.com/user/PeterLeedsPennyStock ETFs are a lot like a mutual fund, in that they hold a group of investments (stocks + bonds). The beauty is that they trade just like stocks, and have lower commissions, and you can trade any time. Each ETF is designed to mimic a specific investment or group of investments. So, for example, GLD attempts to copy the movements of gold prices. If you think gold will go higher, you can buy GLD. If you believe the economy of Africa will grow, you could buy AFK, if you want more exposure to Germany, you could purchase EWG, and so on. Warning number 1, and this isn't what I need to tell you about in this video, sometimes trading can be thin, so use limit orders rather than market orders if you are going to trade them, especially true in the very early or very last trading minutes each day. Anyway, here is the problem with ETFs which can cost you a huge amount of money. ETFs are actively managed, being continually rebalanced so that their holdings reflect the intention of the ETF. For example, INDA is meant to mirror the action of a wide range of companies in India. It involves 85% of the Indian stock market, and needs to be adjusted on a daily basis to make sure it is staying true to its purpose. With these adjustments comes a small management fee. Typically this expense will be very small, usually a fraction of a percent, and is typically less than a common mutual fund. - straight-up ETFs are pretty good, but leveraged ETFs will destroy your investment. - if tracking oil prices, USO will move very similarly to oil. If oil goes up 10%, the ETF may only rise 9.8%. This slight loss is barely noticeable, and it is called slippage. Not a huge deal, but this happens every day. When you get into leveraged ETFs, this becomes a major problem. For example, UWTI is designed to provide 3 times the return of WTI oil. If WTI goes up 1%, UWTI tries to rise 3%. Likewise, if WTI falls 1%, UWTI would fall about 3 times that much. The problem is slippage. In reality if WTI rises 2%, UWTI is designed to climb three times that much, so 6%. However, in reality it may only gain 5.95%, for example. Then, if WTI falls 2%, it is back to where it originally started, but UWTI is designed to fall 3 times that amount, or 6%. In reality, it will likely fall a tiny bit more than 6. These slight shortfalls get applied every day, so if you lose a fraction of your investment, again and again and again, you are suffering a slow bleed. You probably wouldn't even notice it on any single day, but that is why the long term charts of any leverage ETF are always in a slow, steady downtrend. ETFs, especially the leveraged ones, are great for making a very short term call, but should never be used for long term investing. For example, if you expect oil prices to spike, you could play it by buying UWTI, but do it only as a short term trade. If you hold for weeks or months, you will almost certainly lose . Protect yourself when trading ETFs. Consider avoiding buying or selling in the first few or final few minutes. And do not hold ETFs for extended lengths of time, especially the leveraged ones. . Use ETFs to Develop Your Investment Core

04:25
While there have been a lot of new innovative investment styles hitting the exchange traded fund market, investors should not overlook core strategies to build out the foundations of their investment portfolio. For example, Charles Schwab has dabbled with fundamental or alternative index-based ETFs to tap into the rising smart beta trend, the ETF provider is more known for its cheap broad market cap-weighted index ETFs. "We do a lot of thinking per products," Jonathan de St Paer, Head of Strategy and Product Development at Charles Schwab Investment Management, said at the Charles Schwab Impact Conference. "We focus on having a limited number of products that are going to serve most of our clients' needs, so [we] do a lot of research and a lot of vetting before we do anything new."

Replace Emotions with a MATH-Based ETF Strategy

03:32
Investors seeking to diversify an investment portfolio away from the potential risks associated with market cap-weighted indexing methodologies, especially in a prolonged bull market run, can also look to actively managed exchange traded funds. For example, the AdvisorShares Meidell Tactical Advantage ETF (NYSEArca: MATH) tries to provide long-term capital appreciation and helps manage risk by dynamically rebalancing the Fund’s portfolio from as much as 100% equity assets to 100% fixed income assets or cash and cash equivalents depending on market trends. The active ETF can help manage risk as it seeks to minimize portfolio losses by rotating out of higher volatility assets and lower volatility assets depending on the the portfolio manager’s current view of risks in different asset classes.

Direxion Investments Celebrate the Launch of the Direxion iBillionaire Index ETF

00:59
Brian Jacobs, President of Direxion Investments, will ring the NYSE Opening Bell to celebrate the launch of the Direxion iBillionaire Index ETF (NYSE Arca: IBLN). Direxion iBillionaire Index ETF began trading on NYSE Arca on Friday, August 1st. Principal Investment Strategies The Index is composed of 30 U.S. mid and large cap securities selected by iBillionaire Inc. (the “Index Provider”) using proprietary methodologies. The Index Provider starts with a list of billionaire investors and institutional money managers (“Managers”) in the financial services industry derived from publicly available information. The Index Provider then narrows down that list utilizing the following criteria: i) the Manager has a personal net worth of at least $1 billion that is calculated and verified by industry publications; ii) financial markets and investments are the Manager’s primary source of wealth; iii) the public portfolio of the Manager is valued at $1 billion or higher; iv) the Manager’s portfolio has at least 10 securities; v) the portfolio turnover is less than 50%; vi) the Manager’s equity allocation has a three year return that places the Manager in the top 15 financial billionaires; and vii) the Manager files Form 13F and has investments in the United States. The Index Provider limits the number of Managers to ten, however, the number of Managers could be less than ten if there are not ten Managers that meet the above criteria. The Index Provider obtains information regarding the Managers’ holdings from the Form 13F filings that include the holdings of a company or hedge fund that the Manager makes investment decisions for, and that are filed with the SEC. (Click here for more.) Quant-Based Hull Tactical U.S. ETF Trying to Time, Beat S&P

05:23
The Hull Tactical US ETF (HTUS) is flat since its late June launch compared to the S&P 500 which is up over 2 percent, but has taken investors on a nerve-racking ride in the process. Blair Hull, the fund’s manager, said despite the slow start his analytics-based, market-timing fund will beat the index over the long term and with far less volatility. 'There are certain times when you ought to be more exposed to equities and certain times when you are less exposed,' said Hull, who sold his trading company to Goldman Sachs in 1999. 'This is a long term strategy that we believe will perform over a market cycle so you can’t really judge the performance over a short period of time.' The Hull Tactical US ETF is an actively managed ETF, created to achieve long-term growth from investments in the U.S. equity and Treasury markets, independent of market direction. Tactical Volatility Strategy: In recent years professional traders have turned to exciting new exchange traded products such as XIV and VXX in an attempt to turn market volatility into a tradable asset class. While short-term results have at times been impressive, the lack of risk management has led to very large portfolio drawdowns during market declines and weak long-term returns. Our VTS Tactical Volatility Strategy is unique as we focus primarily on mitigating risk and have developed dynamic indicators that successfully reduce losses to the least possible amount. We understand the secret to long-term success isn’t making big gains when the markets cooperate. The real secret is not giving it back when they don’t. Take control of your financial future ! Hello traders and MarketClub members everywhere! Today, I'm going to be looking at the Perfect ETF Portfolio. This is a very simple portfolio to follow and track and we provide you with all the signals and turning points before they occur. The Perfect ETF Portfolio was designed to track and take advantage of the major financial markets we have identified as being important in the long run, stocks, gold, the Dollar and crude oil. These four ETF instruments were chosen to give your 401(k) program or retirement program the broadest possible protection, no matter what happens in the world. After all, it is your retirement money and your nest egg, so this is not money you should be gambling with. To represent stocks, I chose the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (PACF:SPY). To represent the purchasing power of the Dollar, I picked the CurrencyShares Euro ETF (PACF:FXE). To mimic the action in crude oil, I went with the The United States Oil ETF (PACF:USO). Lastly, I chose the SPDR Gold Shares (PACF:GLD) to mirror the price of gold.. With the 401(k), you cannot short the market, therefore you are frequently in the markets when they are going up and out of various markets when they are going down, as is the case now in gold, crude oil and the Euro. That money that is not being used in the market is of course working for you in a money market fund whose returns we do not reflect in our trading results. Now remember, this is your retirement account and you are not swinging for the fences to make tremendous returns, you're simply looking to get a good return on the capital. This portfolio is extremely conservative in nature and while it has shown some excellent returns historically, those returns may or may not be replicated in the future. We started tracking this portfolio in 2008 and for that year we saw a 12% return on invested capital. You may remember that 2008 was a disastrous year for the stock market that many investors are just now getting back to square one some six years later. In 2009, we almost had a double-digit return, we just missed that target with a gain of 9.8%. 2010 produced a gain of 7.2% and in 2011 we bounced back in double digit returns with an 11% gain. In 2012, we witnessed a very small 1.1% loss for the year, which was made up the following year in 2013 with a gain of 2.1%. The goal of the Perfect ETF Portfolio is to protect capital (your nest egg) at all costs. Over the last six years, this portfolio has returned a very respectable 6.8% on capital not including interest on unused money in your portfolio. In today's video, I will be looking at the portfolio and showing you exactly how you can implement these very same tactics and strategies in your retirement portfolio.

Intelligent Portfolio Diversification | Asset allocation strategies in stocks

Portfolio diversification is an important factor to profit from the stock market, but the traditional approach is counter intuitive to maximising results. In this video, Garry demonstrates the smarter way to diversify as part of your overall asset allocation strategies. We promise to only deliver valuable training and information to teach you how to invest in stocks. Any advice in this video is general advice only. Neither your personal objectives, financial situation or needs have been taken into consideration. Accordingly you should consider how appropriate the advice (if any) is to those objectives, financial situation and needs, before acting on the advice. Garry Davis (AR No:317590) is an authorised representative of Primary Securities Ltd (AFSL No. 224107). Stock diversification is a common theme amongst investors, and with particular reference to the fund management industry, it generally breeds low performance. The smart way to carry out investment diversification avoids those pitfalls by not buying at the top and selling at the bottom, in other words not following the herd. Strategic asset allocation such as this gives you a much better chance to create above average returns consistently, but remember when you diversify your portfolio that you should always avoid poor quality stocks, and industries that are not in uptrend. The LHA Market State Strategy

02:27
The LHA Market State Strategy is constructed using a quantitative model that employs Artificial Intelligence (AI) to manage exposure to the U.S. equity market, seeking to participate in market rallies and the cushion market downturns. DISCLOSURE: Please refer to the Prospectus for LHA Market State™ U.S. Tactical ETF (the “Fund”) for important information, including the Fund’s objectives, risks, charges, and expenses. Read and consider the Prospectus and related documents carefully before investing. You may also obtain a hard copy of the Prospectus by calling Rick Tomney at Little Harbor Advisors, LLC (781) 639-3000 (ext.147). Investing involves risk. Principal loss is possible. Shares of any ETF are bought and sold at market price (not NAV), may trade at a discount or premium to NAV, and are not individually redeemed from the Fund. Brokerage commissions will reduce re-turns. The Fund will use future contracts. The potential loss of principal in regard to futures contracts can be in amounts greater than the initial amount invested in the futures contract. Because the Fund may “turn over” some or all of its portfolio as frequently as daily, the Fund may incur high levels of transaction costs, which could reduce shareholder returns. Fund holdings and allocations are subject to change and should not be considered recommendations to buy or sell any security. Mean- is the simple mathematical average of a set of two or more numbers. In a distribution chart it measures the center of distribution data. Variance- (also known as standard deviation) is a measurement of the spread between numbers in a data set. The variance measures how far each number in the set is from the mean. Skew- is a measurement of the symmetry of a distribution around its mean. It is the degree of distortion from the symmetrical bell curve, or normal distribution, in a set of data. Skewness can be negative, positive, zero or undefined. Kurtosis- is a statistical measure that is used to describe the distribution. Whereas skewness differentiates extreme values in one versus the other tail, kurtosis measures extreme values in either tail of the distribution. High kurtosis of the return distribution implies that the investor will experience occasional extreme returns (either positive or negative), more extreme than the usual + or three standard deviations from the mean that is predicted by the normal distribution of returns. The Standard & Poor’s 500, often abbreviated as the S&P 500, or just the S&P, is an American stock market index based on the market capitalizations of 500 large companies having common stock listed on the NYSE or NASDAQ. It is not possible to invest directly in an index. The LHA Market State TM U.S. Tactical ETF is distributed by Quasar Distributors, LLC.

Think the Market is Headed Lower? Try these 3 Bearish ETFs

03:30
The bears have essentially been hibernating since February and not even Brexit could really bring them back. Sylvia Jablonski, managing director at Direxion Investments, said investors believing it is time for them to emerge from their slumber and take the market lower should consider using inverse ETFs. "Investors have numerous things to be concerned about and plenty of factors cause uncertainty in the markets today," said Jablonski. "Inverse ETFs are accessible, liquid, cost efficient vehicles and are a great option particularly for investors and advisors that do not trade options, or do not want the hassle of negotiating borrow, recalls or rerates in the stock loan market." One of the simplest and most cost efficient ways to hedge S&P 500 exposure is via the use of Direxion Daily S&P 500 Bear , according to Jablonski. With a management fee of 45 basis points, it is a cost efficient tool to short the S&P 500. "With the S&P 500 is back at all-time highs, volatility near all-time lows, the dollar is steady and the US is the best market for return at the moment," said Jablonski. "What we are seeing is essentially an 8-year bull market. The question is, can that last forever?" Jablonski's second, more tactical idea for making money when stocks turn down is the Direxion Daily Developed Markets Bear 3X ETF . This ETF seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, of 300% of the inverse (or opposite) of the performance of the MSCI EAFE Index. Drilling down even deeper, Jablonski said investors seeking to profit from the continued weakness and uncertainty in the energy market should consider owning the Direxion Daily Energy Bear 1X ETF . "All the uncertainties that drove oil back up are coming off now," said Jablonski. "U.S. stockpiles are increasing and supplies at all-time highs. If investors believe that the energy sector will suffer in coming months, ERYY would be a good way to either hedge commodity exposure to some degree, or to simply participate in downside index performance." Enhance Market Returns with a Lightly Leveraged ETF

04:28
With tactical exchange traded fund strategies, investors can also lightly leverage their position to potentially enhance market exposure and returns. "It's been exceedingly difficult for advisors to outperform the market, so I think a lot of them are just basically saying, 'if you can't beat them, join them,' and I mean in the form of buying a lot more passive ETFs," Andy O'Rourke, Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer for Direxion Investments, said at the Charles Schwab Impact Conference.
