SUBSCRIBE!: http://bit.ly/1G97GmA SHARE THIS VIDEO: https://youtu.be/EsDiQokJqos I found a DIAMOND!!!! I went to Crater Of Diamond State Park in Murfreesboro, Arkansas and picked a .44 karat diamond right out of the dirt!! At first I thought it was snot, and then a piece of glass, so I had to get it checked out to make sure it was legit. The park as a gem specialist on sight, and sure enough it was a white diamond! The park itself is incredibly interesting. Crater of Diamonds state park is a 371/2 acre plowed field positioned on an eroded 95 million year old volcano, which is also the world’s eight largest diamond-bearing volcanic crater. The park is located in Murfreesboro, Arkansas (population 1,631) and is the only public accessible diamond site in the world. Admission is $10, and you can keep what you find regardless of how much its worth! Gem hunting and gold mining has turned into my new favorite hobby and I go out panning/sluicing for gold every week. I love it so much I started a new youtube channel all about finding gold and other Gems. Giant Uncle Sam diamond found in Arkansas. A man found this giant diamond in Arkansas, it's worth over $800,000. W.O. Basham found a giant of a gemstone in 1924, a 40.23 carat diamond. It might surprise you to hear that he wasn't digging in one of the famous South African diamond mines at the time, but was near Murfreesboro, Arkansas, at a site that is now the Crater of Diamonds State Park. This is our family trip to Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas. It was a beautiful February day, and a much better day than the scorching hot day when we went for the first time in July last year. There was a rain a day and a half or two days earlier, and so the likelihood that we would find a diamond was very good. Hope you enjoy!!

Alluvial diamond mining remains the major source of Sierra Leone’s hard currency earnings accounting for nearly half of the country’s exports. Sierra Leone is renowned for the quality of its diamonds and for the recovery of some spectacularly large stones of very high value from its alluvial deposits.

A Christian pastor working in a Sierra Leone mine has found a 706-carat diamond, which could be the tenth largest ever found. The precious stone was found by Emmanuel Momoh, who was working in the Kono region, in the east of the country. It will be sold in Sierra Leone in a 'transparent' bidding process to benefit the country, according to a government statement. It read: 'A 706-carat diamond was presented to President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma yesterday evening. 'Receiving the diamond President Koroma thanked the chief and his people for not smuggling the diamond out of the country.' Diamond expert Paul Zimnisky said it could be 'between the 10th and 15th largest gem-diamonds ever recovered' and such a find is very rare in a small mine. He said: 'Most recent exceptional diamond discoveries have been made by large commercial miners that mine very large volumes of kimberlite ore and process it with advanced equipment. 'Artisanal mining tends to produce smaller, lower quality diamonds because the diamonds suffer breakage and erosion.' Zimnisky said the stone would likely be sold outside Sierra Leone, despite the government's assertion, for better access to buyers. Without a professional assessment of the diamond's potential flaws and colouring it is impossible to value the stone. However, a polished stone cut from the Jonker, which is the 10th largest gem-diamond ever recovered until now at 726 carats, will go on sale in Hong Kong in May. A single 25-carat portion is likely to sell for $2.2 million to $3.6 million (£1.78 million to £2.75 million), or $88,000 to $144,000 for a single carat, Zimnisky said. A 1,111-carat diamond was discovered at a mine in Botswana in 2015, the biggest find for more than a century. That gem is second in size only to the Cullinan diamond which was unearthed in South Africa in 1905, at 3,106 carats uncut, according to the Cape Town Diamond Museum. The Cullinan was cut into several gems, including two set into the sceptre and crown of the British Crown Jewels. Historically, Sierra Leone has had a controversial role in the diamond industry. The sale of 'blood diamonds' helped finance civil wars across Africa in the 1990s and often funded military dictatorships on a continent that the London Diamond Bourse estimates provides 65 percent of the world's diamonds. Rebels allowed traders to exploit diamond mines and ship the gems abroad via Liberia. In one of the most notorious cases, former Liberian warlord Charles Taylor was found guilty of supporting the rebels in exchange for diamonds mined by slave labour. The district where the 706-carat diamond was discovered is where US-Belgian businessman Michel Desaedeleer, accused of enslavement and diamond trafficking during Sierra Leone's civil war, is alleged to have committed his crimes. Introducing the Arkansas Diamond Mine Adventure, a unique family recreation attraction we want to build in Arkansas. The ADMA will feature a ropes course, an obstacle course and a children's play area. We submitted our business dream to one of the largest investment banking firms off Wall Street, a venture capital group in Little Rock and Kickstarter. They told us that they do not help new business startups, so we're going to you, the American public. We need to raise money to build this business dream. Now these aren't actual diamonds but are double-terminated quartz crystals discovered within exposed outcrops of dolostone in and around Herkimer County, New York and the Mohawk River Valley!!! The "diamond" in their name is due to both their clarity and natural faceting - crystals possess double termination points and 18 total faces (six on each point, six around the center). You can only find them in this part of the world. We highly recommend taking a trip to Herkimer to experience mining for these diamonds. The Black Diamond Mine - one of the oldest mines in the region - is so old that its early history has been mostly lost to time. However, it is believed that the site was originally discovered by a group of Chilean miners. It has a fairly unique structure in that it is a vertical shaft plunging down into the Black Diamond Ridge and four separate and distinct tunnels intersect with the shaft at varying levels down the face of the ridge. Picture an "E" with an extra leg sticking out and you'll have the rough idea.To see inside the lower levels, follow the link below for the video of our return visit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBX-hSHCG88

#schooniebird #practicingretirement #myrvlife It's finally time to cross the Texas border and head into Arkansas. I landed in Murfreesboro, Arkansas and went to the Crater Diamond State Park. It sits on an eroded surface from a volcanic crater, where you can mine for a variety of rocks, minerals, and gemstones. Everything you find is yours to keep, and YES, people have and are still finding diamonds in these fields! I, unfortunately, did not but I still had a blast! Park staff provide complimentary identification of rocks and minerals found at the park and there is a fantastic visitors center to check out first. Wet sifting requires a lot of hard work, and previous experience is helpful. This method is usually preferred by the repeat or regular visitor, and involves digging deep holes, removing the right type soil, washing the soil in a series of screens and patiently hand sorting the concentrated gravels from the screens. Some searchers look for low areas in the field where diamonds may have settled out over the years, or for tailings from the earlier commercial mining plants of the 20's and 30's. Tailings are the waste gravel that went out of the plant. Over the years, these tailing piles were covered by topsoil. The experienced regular hunters look for the tiny gravel, dig it up and wash it again by hand, looking for the small diamonds. As always, you keep any diamonds you find at Crater of Diamonds State Park. Plan your visit: http://www.craterofdiamondsstatepark.com

Diamond Hunt? In the middle of Arkansas State Parks there is the only public diamond mine in the world; by paying a ticket of 10 dollars you can search for diamonds on your own. It’s strange but true; whatever you find, you can actually keep! It is a public treasure hunting paradise because an industrial mining of the diamonds isn’t worth the investment. For more than a century this volcanic crater has been producing diamonds; More than 100,000 diamonds have been found in the Crater of Diamonds State Park. This land was owned by the Arkansas Diamond Mining Company until 1972, when it was purchased by the State and was developed into a State Park. So far the hardworking treasure hunters have found 30 thousand stones in all different sizes and colours. The largest diamond ever found in the volcano crater was 40.3 carats, back in 1924. The diamond was named “Uncle Sam” after its finder’s own nickname, a worker at the Arkansas Diamond Corporation called Wesley Oley Basham. It is said to be the largest diamond ever discovered in the United States. ================================== If you like this video, share, like, comment & don't forget to subscribe for more content! Some clips of my hand mining adventures with my mining partner Ron Murray in Middleville NY Spring 2018. We are mining at both the Herkimer Diamond Mines and KOA and the Ace of Diamonds Mine. It features the discovery of a few pockets and one amazing specimen. Enjoy!
