Today we'll go over how to implement your Couch Potato portfolio with ETFs. We will use the Questrade platform as it is our preferred brokerage for buying ETFs. Questrade allows us to purchase ETFs virtually free unlike other brokerages who charge the standard $9.95. With such a low fee, you can purchase as many or as little as you want, meaning you can contribute more often without worrying about cost. OMFG is in no way affiliated with the Canadian Couch Potato website, it just happens to be our favourite investment strategy due to it's simplicity. 5 Mistakes Investors Make with ETFs | Fidelity

04:43
In this video, learn about the five biggest mistakes that investors make when buying ETFs, or exchange-traded funds. To learn the basics about ETFs, visit https://www.fidelity.com/learning-center/investment-products/etf/overview. To get started investing with ETFs, visit https://www.fidelity.com/etfs/overview To see more videos from Fidelity Investments, subscribe to: https://www.youtube.com/fidelityinvestments Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fidelityinvestments Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/fidelity Google+: https://plus.google.com/+fidelity LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/fidelity-investments --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let’s talk about the five biggest mistakes investors can make when buying exchange-traded funds. ETFs can be good tools for investors - when used appropriately. But with any investment, there are always things to watch out for. Number 1: Buying the Hot New Thing More than 100 new ETF products launch each year, many of them chasing the latest hot trend. Cloud computing, driverless cars, 3-D printing … you name it, there’s an ETF for that. Buying into the latest hot theme might make you big returns, but take care: These product launches may come after there has been a run up in the market. Buying at the top can be painful on the way down. Number 2: Buying Something You Don’t Understand The only thing worse than chasing the hottest trend is buying something you don’t understand. ETFs have taken institutional strategies and made them push-button-easy for everyday investors to access. Want access to commodity futures? There’s an ETF for that. 300% leverage? 200% short? Interest-rate carry plays? Yes to all. But just because you can buy something easily doesn’t mean you should. All of these funds may be good tools, but only if you know how to use them correctly. Number 3: Thinking All ETFs Are Created Equal Consider China. At the start of 2014, there were more than a dozen broad-based China ETFs. For example, had you chosen PGJ, the PowerShares Golden Dragon China ETF, at the start of the year, you would have lost more than 7% of your money. Had you instead chosen ASHR, the Deutsche Xtrackers Harvest CSI 300 China A-Shares ETF, you would have earned a 51% return. Both are “China ETFs.” Both can provide big, diversified portfolios. But ASHR has significant exposure to Chinese Ashares—largely consumer-focused stocks listed and traded on the domestic Chinese market— which performed spectacularly well in 2014. Don’t assume all ETFs are created equal. Just because two ETFs cover the same market doesn’t mean they provide the same exposure or returns. There’s no guarantee which fund will perform better in the future. But if you wanted to invest last year in the growth of the Chinese consumer and the domestic investor base there, a little bit of research would have gone a long way. Number 4: Trading…Just Because You Can Trading is central to ETFs. It’s right there in the name. But just because you can trade an ETF intraday doesn’t mean you should. Emotions are often an investor’s worst enemy. You zig when you should zag; you sell at the bottom and buy at the top. We all do sometimes. The trouble is ETFs make that even easier than traditional mutual funds. ETFs’ intraday liquidity can be great when you need to get into or out of the market quickly. But those situations are rare. Number 5: Only Using Market Orders When you do invest, consider using a limit order versus a market order. Market orders are instructions to buy or sell securities at the best possible price right now. That can work well for the most liquid ETFs, but as you move beyond the top dozen ETFs, you can find yourself getting trades executed at prices you don’t really want. Using a limit order means you agree to buy an ETF at a certain price or below, and sell it at a certain price or above. A limit order puts the control back in your hands and can help you set the price on your terms. Learn from these common mistakes to help avoid making them yourself. Dividend Stocks Vs. Dividend ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds)

15:33
You like dividend checks. However, you are unsure whether you should pursue individual dividend-paying stocks or dividend-focused ETFs (exchange traded funds). Today's video, a response to a subscriber question, compares and contrasts individual dividend growth stocks versus dividend mutual funds (ETFs), through my personal lens. While I cannot answer this question for others, I can share my personal pros and cons when I compare the two, and how I decided to proceed in my personal stock portfolio. Specifically, I cover: * Two specific ETF (exchange traded fund) examples from a major ETF mutual fund family. * Why starting yields may be a bit too low with ETFs. * Why I love the control that individual, dividend stocks offer. (And, their lack of ongoing fees is nice too.) * How one can derive more value (when stocks are "on sale") via individual stocks versus mutual funds (which offer a basket of stocks). This is a critical point. The stock market, in my opinion, is not efficient. By holding individual dividend stocks, I get to buy bargains all the time. * When ETFs and mutual funds may make sense (namely retirement accounts where individual stocks are not an option, or those that have smaller portfolios without the prospect of large-scale growth). * How I hope and dream that everyone watching has a million dollar (or more) dividend stock portfolio, one that pays massive cash flow. Today's video is a bit contrarian, and that's ok. My goal is one of early financial freedom and massive passive income. Since my goals are a bit unconventional, my personal finance strategy has been a bit unconventional too. Canadian Stock Investing Strategy - Find, Track and Trade Canadian Stocks

34:48
This video covers ONE way to find stocks trading at an attractive price. This video covers the first step in the process: finding the stock. Once we have found a stock, we then want to look at its financial health (not covered in this video). Before buying anything we want to make sure earnings are stable, growing, or likely only seeing a temporary dip if earnings have been dropping. We want to make sure the company is typically profitable, can afford to pay any dividends and can also afford to pay their short-term obligations. While we may end up with 100 stocks on our list, maybe only 20 of those stocks will pass our financial/fundamental analysis, and then maybe only a handful of those will reach a price we are comfortable with. Go through the process discussed in the video once every couple weeks (or once a month), screening for new stocks to add to your list, and analyzing stocks currently on your list. Only buy stocks below the "buy zone" price. Know the dividend yield and potential dividend yield of all stocks on your list, as well where you plan to exit each stock on your list. Put a stock of interest on your list even if it is a long way away from the entry price you want. *Note: you put 1 share in the portfolio just so it tracks the stock, but it has nothing to with your actual position size on a trade. Position size will be discussed in a future video. This video looks at how to screen for Canadian stocks which are trading at value prices and/or offering a nice dividend with great long-term upside potential. Unfortunately, I can't go through the whole strategy in 30 mins, but this provides an overview of some things to look for and how to set up a list of potential investments. This way you always have list of Canadian stocks you want to buy if they reach the price you want to buy at (as determined by the strategy).

O'Shares Is Kevin O'Leary's New Low-Risk, High-Yield ETF Line

04:07
Kevin O'Leary, better known as Mr. Wonderful on ABC's 'Shark Tank,' partnered with Connor O'Brien to form O'Shares, a line of five exchange traded funds, or ETFs, the first of which began trading today on the NYSE Arca as O'Shares FTSE US Quality Dividend ETF (OUSA). The investment ensemble aims to give investors cost-efficient access to a diverse portfolio of low volatility, high yield stocks. O'Leary's investment philosophy, passed down from his mother, is simple: In cash I trust. If [an investment] doesn't generate cash I'm not interested. His ETF tracks the performance of the FTSE US Qual / Vol / Yield Factor 5% Capped Index (FUSYQVCF).The 140 stocks in the index are diversified across ten industry sectors, with the three largest sectors being consumer goods, health care and technology, and the three smallest being materials, financials and utilities. BEST ETFs FOR 2018

09:57
🔥The Informed Investor: http://bit.ly/TheInformedInvestor1 - I Reveal My $100,000+ Stock Portfolio and Every Trade I Make! 🔥 These are the best ETFs for 2018! I chose these 4 ETFs as the best ETFs for 2018 is because they have produced excellent returns with low volatility. ETFs are a great way to get exposed to many stocks with one security, and they are usually less volatile than picking single stocks. ETFs are the way to go for investors who want to "set it and forget it". (VUG) VANGUARD GROWTH FUND - This is the single largest holding in my own personal portfoli - Give you exposure to 313 US large cap growth companies that are relatively stable - 1 year ROI = 24.27% vs. 17.93% SP 500 - 5 year ROI = 101.57% vs. 89.06% SP 500 - Top 10 Holdings = Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Alphabet (Google), Visa, Home Depot, Coca Cola, Comcast, Philip Morris - VUG holds a good mix of large cap growth companies with a solid 1.18% dividend yield make this a staple in my portfolio. (SPY) SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust - Launched in 1993, this is literally the oldest ETF in existence, and it’s been one of the most solid over the years. - The spider S&P 500 tracks all of the companies contained within...You guessed it… the S&P 500! - 1 year ROI = 18.05% - 5 year ROI = 89.61% - Top 10 holdings are Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, Johnson & Johnson, Berkshire Hathaway, JP Morgan Chase, Exxon, Google, Bank of America - This is for investors who want just a little less volatility than you would get with a growth ETF like VUG - This is a great “set it and forget it" ETF that you just add to monthly (VYM) VANGUARD High Dividend Yield - Dividend-paying stocks tend to perform better, as a group, than non-dividend stocks, and also generally do better during tough economic times. - For investors who want exposure to rock-solid dividend stocks, but don't want the guesswork and risk involved with choosing individual stocks - Invests in 401 stocks that pay higher-than-average dividend yields, and specifically excludes REITs - 1 year ROI = 12.36% - 5 year ROI= 73.34% ARK ETF Trust - The ARK ETF is an actively-managed fund that focuses on companies working in next-generation sectors, like cloud computing and Big Data. It has a nice mixture of recognizable names, as well as lesser-known speculative companies. - BitCoin Investment Trust is the top holding in ARK, and this fund is banking heavily on bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. While that may seem like an unnecessarily heavy risk, I believe could possibly pay off handsomely. - 1 year ROI = 85.34% - Since Oct 2014 = 139% - Top 10 holdings: bitcoin investment trust, amazon, athena health, twitter, tesla, 2U inc, netflix, nvidia, google, mercadolibre. Bitcoin and the blockchain are the ultimate disruptors. Do you want to know the best investment strategy for beginners? Most beginners lose their money in the stock market because they don't have a solid strategy. A lot of times, it would take years to master a single strategy in stocks investing. What if you have the chance to look inside the brains of the Oracle of Omaha on how you can grow your money in stocks investing. In this video, Warren Buffett explains the best strategy for beginners in stocks investing. Aside from this, he gives you nuggets of timeless wisdom on how to become wealthy in stocks investing. Warren Edward Buffett (born August 30, 1930) is an American investor, business magnate, and philanthropist. He is considered by some to be one of the most successful investors in the world, and as of February 2017 is the second wealthiest person in the United States with a total net worth of $76.9 billion. Born in Omaha, Buffet developed an interest in investing in his youth, eventually entering the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1947 before transferring and graduating from University of Nebraska–Lincoln. After graduating at 19, Buffet enrolled at Columbia Business School of Columbia University, learning and eventually creating his investment philosophy around a concept pioneered by Benjamin Graham–value investing. He attended New York Institute of Finance to specialize his economics background and soon after began various business partnerships, including one with Graham. After meeting Charlie Munger, Buffet created the Buffett Partnership. His firm would eventually acquire a textile manufacturing firm called Berkshire Hathaway and assume its name to create a diversified holding company. Buffet has been the chairman and largest shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway since 1970, and his business exploits have had him referred to as the "Wizard", "Oracle" or "Sage" of Omaha by global media outlets. He is noted for his adherence to value investing and for his personal frugality despite his immense wealth. Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_Buffett

This Investing Strategy Can't Lose Money

13:49
This Investment Strategy Can't Lose Money LONG TERM. Diversified ETF investing is the answer to how and in what do I invest in? With the RIGHT Asset Allocation, in diversified, low fee ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) you cannot lose money in the long term. The properly diversified portfolio moves at an average 8% upwards (as it has for the last 200 years). Some years are down, some years are up - the net is up 8% per year. Your money will double every 7-8 years. It's simple and it works. I'll be following up this video with a video on the specific asset allocations one can use. No one country or one sector should comprise more than 5-10% of your investment portfolio. Something basic, and not diversified enough for my tastes, would be the following asset allocations: Total Market Index 30% VTSMX 4 Total International Stock Index Fund 20% VGTSX 5 REIT index 20% VGSIX 4 U.S. Treasury Bond Index 15% VFISX 1 TIPS Bond Index 15% VIPSX 2 How to Contact me: My Blog: http://www.25andfree.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/mike.rosehart Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/mikerosehart Twitter: https://twitter.com/MikeRosehart SUBSCRIBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe56q2OeCxBHreMzwiK82Ig Bigger Pockets: https://www.biggerpockets.com/users/michael_ivey Mike Rosehart Business & Coaching Inquires: [email protected] If you want to speak with me on the phone or over skype for 1 on 1 coaching calls, I have decided to make myself available on a limited basis (so long as it doesn’t infringe on my retirement & freedom). INVESTING IN INDEX FUNDS 📈 Best Vanguard Index Funds To Invest In!

05:47
In this video we will be talking about index funds and exchange traded funds or ETF's. Here are the index funds or ETF's that I recommend investing in. I recommend investing in Vanguard index funds. Vanguard index funds have some of the lowest expense ratios in the industry. While it may not seem like a lot, high expense funds could be costing you a significant amount of money in the long run. It is important to consider the expense ratio of any fund you invest in. Mutual funds typically have a much higher expense ratio compared to index funds. Here are the Vanguard index funds I recommend! This is the ETF listing as well as the index fund listing. 1. Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF ($VTI) 2. Vanguard Total International Stock ETF ($VXUS) 3. Vanguard Total World Stock ETF ($VT) 4. Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund ($VTSAX) 5. Vanguard Total International Stock Index Fund ($VTIAX) 6. Which trading platform or broker would you recommend for a new trader?

05:36
Which trading platform or broker would you recommend for a new trader? ★ SUMMARY ★ There’s no such thing as the best broker It’s not that one specific broker is the best broker. Just like choosing a car, whether that’s a convertible, a sedan, a van, a truck, every car vehicle is going to be different for that type of person along with the different color choices and options that you want. It is going to come down to the type of trading that you personally do. The cheapest is not always the best choice Typically, initially, most people choose a broker based on fees, meaning commission rates, they want to choose lower commission rates, but this is not always the best way to choose a broker. Customer support is important Look for the cheapest after you have the experience Most brokers will negotiate their rates Posted at: http://investinghelpdesk.com/26-which-trading-platform-or-broker-would-you-recommend-for-a-new-trader ★ SHARE THIS VIDEO ★ https://youtu.be/07uu5F_MTEY ★ SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE: ★ http://bit.ly/addtradersfly ★ ABOUT TRADERSFLY ★ TradersFly is a place where I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience about the stock market, trading, and investing. Questrade Review | The Pros & Cons of Questrade Online Broker

GET $50 IN COMMISSION-FREE TRADES - https://www.questrade.com/QBAFFL50T102?refid=ayiice9l Today we'll be reviewing the online investment broker, Questrade. Questrade - https://www.questrade.com?refid=ayiice9l 📈 My Personal Portfolio & Trading Updates | Brandon’s Buys ➤ https://bit.ly/2RiD9Q9 Website ➤ https://www.brandonbeavis.com I began using Questrade about 6 months ago and I want to share with you guys my experiences so far. We'll go over the pros & cons and see if it is a suitable online broker for you! Questrade is one of the most popular investment brokers in Canada. It boasts some of the lowest fees/commissions and allows ETF purchases for FREE! About 6 months ago, I set up a self-directed TFSA on Questrade and have been trading on it ever since. So far, I've really enjoyed using Questrade as my online broker. It has done everything that I've expected out of an online broker. The only negative I've experienced is the fact that you do have to start with a minimum of $1,000. That is their threshold and maybe for some new investors looking to invest in the stock market, this may be a little much to commit to.
