Exxaro CEO Sipho Nkosi Patrice Motsepe on ANC documents on mining tax (RW 88) The super tax proposed in the African National Congress's nationalisation-rejecting study earlier this year isn't good for mining, says African Rainbow Minerals executive chairperson Patrice Motsepe. ARM executive chairperson Patrice Motsepe RBPlat calls for Lonmin commission of enquiry (RW 109) Royal Bafokeng Platinum CEO Steve Phiri called for the judicial commission of enquiry into the Lonmin killings to have the broadest possible terms of reference. Royal Bafokeng Platinum CEO Steve Phiri Social obligations render SA less competitive (RW 110) DRDGold CEO Niël Pretorius believes high Australia-level mining taxes are more preferable to the fuzzy, indeterminable social obligations imposed on South African mining companies. Anglo American CEO Cynthia Carroll Glencore tells Xstrata investors its bid is final (RW 112) Commodities trader Glencore laid out what it said was a final $36-billion takeover offer for Xstrata in early September, warning the miner's investors it wouldn't improve the terms again after making concessions to entice recalcitrant shareholders. Lee Rhiannon: Sick of Coal

02:11
People in the NSW Hunter Valley are sick of the adverse health impacts the coal industry has on their community. Greens Senator Lee Rhiannon recently joined the local community in Newcastle (16 March 2013) to say No To Coal. The coal industry has had a sickening effect on people in the Hunter. Dozens of coal mines in the Hunter, stock piles of coal awaiting export at Newcastle Port and countless uncovered coal trains chugging along rail lines are creating a growing legacy of respiratory problems and health concerns related to coal dust. The situation stands to get far worse if the fourth coal export terminal for Newcastle Harbour, called T4, is given the go-ahead. The T4 project has been put on hold, but the greedy coal industry still plans to expand the mining and export of coal, which will further increase the health burden of coal dust and pollution on Hunter residents. Greens senator Lee Rhiannon joined the local community in Newcastle (16 March) recently to say No To Coal. Thanks to The Dennis Boys Band from Muswellbrook for the great music on this video. http://lee-rhiannon.greensmps.org.au/sickofcoal

EMESRT

06:19
For many years, the mining industry has suffered globally from equipment--related incidents that have resulted in losses, significantly including fatalities, but also major equipment modifications by the mining customer. Mining companies recognize that Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) can, and have demonstrated improvements in equipment designs, especially when they have understood the operational and maintenance risks from the customer perspective. In 2005, this issue evolved into a formal global mining initiative, driven by a desire to fill the knowledge gap between customers and equipment designers whilst focusing on new designs where opportunity for major change was not only possible but also more economic. The Earth Moving Equipment Safety Round Table (EMESRT) is a global initiative involving 14 companies. EMESRT engages with key mining industry Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to advance the design of the equipment to improve safe operability and maintainability beyond Standards. EMESRT was formally established in 2006 by six global mining companies. Membership has more than doubled since so member companies in 2012 represent most major mining jurisdictions around the globe: Anglo American, Barrick, BHP Billiton, Centennial Coal, Collahuasi, Newcrest, Newmont, Peabody, Rio Tinto, Sasol, Suncor, Syncrude, Vale, and Xstrata. A mining customer -- OEM engagement strategy was developed and initial engagement was supported by resources such as Design Philosophies and a 'beyond Standards' analysis method called the Operation and Maintainability Analysis Technique (OMAT)

Find out more: http://plts.co/FtR0307by6M EU carbon allowance prices may react to a key vote on December 15 by the EU Parliament’s environment committee. At stake are the rules governing the annual decline of the CO2 cap after 2020, the auction share, free allocation to trade-exposed sectors and the volume of allowances earmarked for new EU funds. The committee’s vote is expected to form the basis of the Parliament’s negotiations with the EU Council and European Commission, with final legislation expected in late 2017. Frank Watson, managing editor, European Emissions, explains what the vote means for European markets.

Debt Consolidation Canada

00:47
For Debt Consolidation Visit http://debtconsolidationonline.ca/ Debt is not a new phenomenon. It has been here for as long as humanity itself. However, how we manage our debt has evolved over the years. For example, people no longer have to slave for feudal lords just because they could not pay up their debt. Nowadays, creditors are civil about how they collect their debts. In other words, they use lawyers and the courts. You will never have to deal with bankruptcy lawyers if you learn how to manage your debt well. This is especially true in the modern economy that we live in. Now, you can actually consolidate your debt instead of having many creditors. Debt consolidation comes with many numerous benefits. Here are some of these benefits. - Debt Consolidation Offers Single Payments to Your Creditors Each financial transaction that you make has a certain cost attached to it. Making payments to your creditors is no exception. This means that you will incur a cost with every transaction that you make to each creditor. These transaction costs can be very expensive if you have many creditors to pay. You can avoid all of these costs by making single payments to a debt consolidation company. Your debt consolidation company will then disburse your funds to the relevant creditors. - Debt Consolidation Gives You a Greater Bargaining Power Negotiating with your creditors can be a very frustrating experience. They rarely listen. In fact, they usually ask for higher interest rates when you ask for a longer repayment period on your debt. Conversely, they will ask for a shorter repayment period on your loan if you ask for a lower interest rate. This cycle will go on and on just because you are an individual. In the end, you will have no longer but to accept what your creditors say. - Debt Consolidation Helps However, the presence of a debt consolidation company changes everything. You will now able to negotiate better terms with your creditors if you decide to consolidate your debt. This is because the presence of a debt consolidation company assures your creditors that they will receive their money in due time. This makes them more flexible as you negotiate terms with them. Consolidate your debts today. Avoid the embarrassment of bankruptcy lawyers and the court system. Debt consolidation works. Try us at http://debtconsolidationonline.ca/ http://youtu.be/aM2DgYy3nkE
