Types of Chemical Reactions

12:54
We'll learn about the five major types of chemical reactions: synthesis, decomposition, synthesis, single replacement (also called single displacement) and double replacement (also called double displacement). We'll look at examples of each, so that you can classify them, figuring out what type they are. In a synthesis reaction, a compound is made from more simple materials. In a decomposition reaction, a compound breaks down into simpler elements or compounds. In a combustion reaction, a compound (usually with carbon, hydrogen, and sometimes oxygen) combines with oxygen to give carbon dioxide and water. In a single replacement (displacement) reaction, one element that is on its own displaces another element in aqueous solution, kicking it out. In a double replacement (displacement) reaction, the positive and negative ions in two ionic compounds switch places, causing a precipitate to form.

This video is based on a query by a website visitor: 'Hi, First of all, thank you for all the interesting excel VBA tutorials you've made! I'm a swedish student from Malmö, studying bachelor in civil engineering and is now writing my candidate paper. In my paper I thought to include an excelfile but I've got some problems with macros and VBA. What I want to do: The user gives a number (days) and excel (the macro) generates a list with the same amount of numbers as it is days (a list with 1,2,3...) in another sheet. the user will also write a price per unit that is supposed to complete the list next to the numbers. I don't know if my explanation above is any good, so I'll give you my code. I't doesn't work and I would be very glad if you could help me. CODE: Private Sub cmd_addit_Click() Dim number, x, x1, antaltimmar As Integer x1 = 1 'row 1 (so excel knows) I've made a list starting in L1 with 1 L2 with 2 and so on. x = 4 'row 4, this is the starting row, where I want excel to start paste info. number = 1 'it is always at least 1 day. This lesson comes from a request by Aditya from Maharashtra, India. Aditya says he is preparing for a competitive exam and he has to do reading comprehension exercises as part of the exam, and he wants to know the best way to do these. Before we start, if you want to request a lesson, just leave a comment. In your comment, tell me your name, and I will mention you in the video. OK, in this lesson I will give you some important tips and strategies for reading comprehension exercises. I will give you a reading plan that you can follow, and there are exercises in this lesson for you to practice. Alright, now my teaching experience is mostly with exams like the IELTS and TOEFL, but the tips that I give you in this lesson will help you in any exam situation. So the first thing is: when it comes to reading in an exam, budget your time. That means: you should know how many reading passages there are in the exam, how many exercises there are and how much time you have. In the IELTS exam, for example, there are three reading passages and you have one hour to do all of them. So then divide your time amongst those passages – for IELTS, you might spend roughly 20 minutes per passage. In some exams, one passage might be shorter or easier, and another passage might be longer or more difficult. In that case, obviously, you should plan to spend less time on the short passage, and more time on the long passage. And you should time yourself – if you are allowed to wear a watch in your exam, look at your watch and keep track of the time. If you plan for 20 minutes per passage, stick to that plan. Now, if you’re not allowed to wear a watch, then use the clock in the room or hall, or ask the invigilators how much time you have left. Alright, that’s the first thing: budgeting your time. So now the exam starts – and you have the first reading passage in front of you – what do you do? Well, I’ll tell you what you should NOT do – don’t start at the beginning and read slowly to the finish. Many students do this – and the problem is that when you get to the end, you will have forgotten a lot of the details in the middle, and when you read the questions, you have to go back and read the passage again to find the answers. Instead, here’s the plan that you should follow: your first step in reading should be to skim the passage. What does that mean? Well, skimming is actually something that we do with milk. It’s when you heat or boil milk, and the fat rises to the top in the form of cream. Removing that layer of fat is called skimming. When it comes to reading, skimming means to read the surface of the text quickly to understand the overall message. So if there’s a heading or title to the passage, and if there are subheadings, read all of these first. They will tell you the subject of the text. Then read the first sentence of each paragraph – they will give you a good idea of the overall message. Let’s practice this. You see two paragraphs on the screen, but only the first sentence in each paragraph is visible. Stop the video, read the sentences and try to understand the main topic in each paragraph. Alright, so what do you think the topic of the whole passage might be? It could be the negative effects of social media on children. What about the first paragraph? What is it about? Well it says that using social media can affect a child’s writing skills. And the second paragraph? It says that some people don’t agree with this – that is, the first paragraph – for two reasons: scientific reasons and practical reasons (pragmatic).

Business Income Worksheet | C3 Insurance Academy

04:19
Are business income worksheets are a little bit confusing? We're gonna simplify that process for you so that at the time of loss you can be assured that the value you set on your policy is adequate to cover your expenses. But first let's cover what business income actually covers at the time of loss to a building that's scheduled on to the property policy the business income will help cover your operating expenses your payroll continuation extra expense associated with moving to a new location and loss of income. Now, it's important to note we have created a simplified process here so rather than giving you every single thing that may be covered by the policy during the time of loss we're doing the 80% rule so 80% of the expenses that you would need to cover at the time of loss we have simplified into line items that were about to review with you first we'll take a look at the continuation of our operating expenses this includes your mortgage or rent utilities taxes that are not income related insurance maintenance and any other expenses that you would continue to incur during that time of loss. Next let's discuss payroll continuation. You may or may not choose to include this as a part of your coverage if you're a manufacturing facility a distributor a construction company it's typically fairly easy to lease another location and replace your supplies and continue operations if you're a restaurant. Let's say it may be a little bit more difficult to identify a new location and thus you may not want to cover the payroll of non essential personnel so let's take a look at the categories that you may want to include payroll for your officers executives and essential personnel payroll of all other personnel let's call them non-essential and the taxes and benefits associated with that table if you're able to relocate to a temporary location then we need to consider something called extra expense and these items that are associated with the move to a new location that would be the expense of actually moving to the location. Any alterations are build out of the temporary location temporary equipment a extra expense that's associated with a labor necessary to make the move and any other items that are associated with operating out of that temporary location the last step is to take our loss of profits over this period of time and add it to our operating expenses payroll continuation and extra expense to come up with a total. When completing the worksheet we recommend that you first start with taking a one-year period so that way you can work off your financial statements and come up with an annual value but we all know that building permits engineering construction is taking longer and longer these days so once you have your annualized cost then you want to consider extending that period of indemnity to either 18 months or maybe even 24 months so that you have adequate coverage in place this is important because this type of coverage uses something called time element and so it's going to cover your losses associated with a specific period of time the shorter that amount of time is the more restrictive the coverage thus you may want to extend your policy from a 12 month period to 18 or 24 months to make sure you have adequate coverage in place that concludes our quick and easy summary of how to complete a business income worksheet. Please be on the lookout for more of our educational videos where we take complex insurance topics and break them down into terms that normal business people can understand if you have any questions please reach out to us via [email protected]
Mutations

07:03
Paul Andersen describes the major mutations found in the living world. He starts with an analogy comparing the information in DNA with the information in a recipe. Changes in the DNA can result in changes to the protein, like changes in the recipe can result in changes in the food. He describes the three major point mutations; substitutions, deletions and insertions. He also describes several chromosomal mutations. The 4 English Sentence Types – simple, compound, complex, compound-complex

15:27
Did you know there are only four sentence types in English? To improve your writing and reading skills in English, I'll teach you all about simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex sentences in this grammar video. You'll learn how to identify the independent and dependent clauses. Don't worry, it's easier than it sounds! By learning to identify and use these sentence structures, you'll make your writing more interesting and dynamic. I'll also share many example sentences in the lesson, so you can practice with my help. http://www.engvid.com/the-4-english-sentence-types-simple-compound-complex-compound-complex/ TRANSCRIPT Hi. Welcome back to www.engvid.com. I'm Adam. Today's lesson is a writing lesson, but it's also a spoken English lesson. It's about anything to do with English, because we're going to be looking at sentence types. Now, of course, when you speak, you're using all kinds of sentence types. But, especially in writing, it's important to know the different types of sentences, because, especially if you're going to be writing tests, they want to see sentence variety. And even if you're not writing tests, anything you write, if you're using only one type of sentence, your writing becomes very bland, very boring, very hard to follow, because it's a little bit monotone. So what you need to do is you need to vary... You need a variety of sentence structures in your writing to give it a little bit more life. Okay? Luckily, you only need to know four sentence types. We have simple sentences, compound sentences, complex sentences, and compound-complex. Now, this is not exactly easy, but it's not exactly hard, either. If you figure out what you need to have in each one, in each sentence type, just make sure it's there. Okay? Let's start. A simple sentence has one independent clause. A little bit of review: What is an independent clause? An independent clause has a subject and a verb, and can complete an idea. It can stand by itself, because the idea in that clause is complete. I don't need to add anything else to it. Okay. A compound sentence has two or more independent clauses, joined by a conjunction. A compound conjunction: "and", "but", "or", "so", "for" (not very common), etc. So, we join two independent clauses with a compound conjunction. You can have more, but again, you have to be a little bit careful. Once you get to three, start to look for a way to finish your sentence, because if you get to the fourth, you already have a crazy sentence that has the... Runs the risk of being a run-on sentence. Eventually, you're going to make a mistake, you're going to miss something, and the whole sentence falls apart. I don't recommend three, but you can put three. Then we have a complex sentence. A complex sentence has one independent clause, plus one or more dependent clause. A dependent clause is a clause that has a subject and a verb, but cannot stand by itself. It is not a complete idea. It has some sort of relationship to the independent clause. We have three types of dependent clauses. We have noun clauses, we have adjective clauses, and we have adverb clauses. Okay? That's a whole separate lesson. You can look at that later. But you have to have one of these, plus one of these, and you have a complex sentence. Next we have a compound-complex sentence. Here you have two or more independent clauses, again, joined by a conjunction, and one or more dependent clause. Okay? So you have basically all the elements in this sentence. Then, once you have all this stuff, you can add as many complements, or basically extras, as you want. So, let's look at an example. We're going to start with the simple sentence: "Layla studied biology." Very simple. I have a subject, I have a verb, I have an object. Okay? This is a simple sentence. It's an independent clause; it can stand by itself as a complete idea. Now, I can add anything I want to this that is not another clause of any type, and it'll still be a simple sentence. So I can say: "My friend Layla studied biology in university." I'll just say "uni" for short. I have more information, but do I have a different type of sentence? No. It's still a simple sentence. Now, let's look at this sentence. First, let me read it to you: "Even with the weather being that nasty, the couple and their families decided to go ahead with the wedding as planned." Now you're thinking: "Wow, that's got to be a complex sentence", right? "It's so long. There's so much information in it." But, if we look at it carefully, it is still a simple sentence. Why? Because we only have one independent clause. Where is it? Well, find the subject and verb combination first. So, what is the subject in this sentence? I'll give you a few seconds, figure it out. Hit the pause key, look at it. Okay, we're back. Here is the subject: "the couple and their families". Now, don't get confused with this "and".

Explanation of a Florida Child Support Guidelines Worksheet

05:03
Jacksonville Divorce Lawyer A. James Mullaney gives an explanation of a Florida Child Support Guidelines Worksheet For more information, visit the website http://www.jimmullaney.com I'm going to walk through what all these numbers mean in a Child Support Guidelines Worksheet. Hopefully so you can better understand what is going on here. There are a lot of numbers. Only a very few are actually input into the system. This is a sample worksheet, not an actual client's worksheet. But this is more in line with what you will see at a court hearing, rather than the Child Support Guidelines Worksheet that the Supreme Court of Florida puts on their website. The first thing to notice is the number of children. The combined number of children. Here we have two (2) children. And they are living primarily with the Wife. Zero of the children living with the Husband. The next data that is input in the first section up here is in the income section. It shows a Wife with $3109 of monthly income, and a Husband with $5400 of monthly income. It totals these numbers up to $8509. These other lines here are for other ways you can make money. Basically they are all treated the same except for non-taxable income - which generally only comes up in a military context (but there are others). So the difference between the $8509 and the $7285 are the various deductions and this is what the rest of this side of the worksheet is talking about. It lists the various deductions - alimony payments, taxes, and other main ones union - dues, mandatory retirement plans, parent's health insurance cost (but not the children's, that is treated somewhere else). But the parent's health insurance cost as well as child support that is ordered and paid in other cases - not this case, but is ordered and paid in other cases. Each parent's net income is calculated and then it's added up to the $7285 - and that's the number that is reflected on the next screen with the minimum child support need of $1921. OK, so to review, the only numbers input on the left side of the screen were the number of children, the income of the Wife, the income of the Husband - nothing was input as any alimony payment made by either party. The taxes are calculated automatically, and there are no other deductions used. The numbers here at the bottom are all automatically calculated. And that gets us to the other side where we initially see the minimum child support need of $1921. So starting on this side, the numbers that are input are simply .... the number of overnights that the children are going to have with the Husband. Based on the minimum child support need of $1921, the two (2) next numbers get divided up based on the percentages of income. So, in this situation, the Husband would typically pay $1108 a month in child support. That's not going to be the case here because of the number of nights [with the children]. The law requires a reduction in his child support if he spends more than 20% of the nights with the children. Here is shows you his percentage - 27.4%. So that will provide, due to some interesting math provided by the statute, a pre-adjustment transfer - so that's his base child support amount based on his number of nights and his income - of $873. Next we go down to a couple of expenses that are counted in a child support calculation. First, this hypothetical couple pays $450 a month in day care costs and $350 a month in medical. And here you can see that the Wife pays the child care and the Husband pays the medical . Each is responsible for only a portion of those numbers even though they pay the entire amount of each one. The Wife is responsible for 42.3% of both costs. And the Husband is responsible for 57.7% of both costs. So instead of the having the Wife pay some money to the Husband and the Husband paying some money to the Wife, there's only one transfer and that's the $111.68 that the Husband pay in additional child support due to these expenses. We add that to the pre-adjustment transfer and you have him final child support amount of $985.06.

Excel's 3D Formulas - Webinar

19:11
Excel workbooks often have important, inter-related information on multiple sheets. You may have a sheet for each month with sales data or a sheet containing production figures for each product your company produces. One of Excel’s powerful features is the ability to create formulas through multiple sheets, which we call Three Dimensional Formulas. In the webinar, we will illustrate several methods of consolidating information from many worksheets into a summary sheet, and from multiple Workbooks into one workbook. We will touch on questions such as: – How do I add weekly sales from all of my weekly sales sheets and place the results on a Summary sheet? – Can I consolidate my information across multiple sheets and see the detail on the Summary sheet? – If I have data in separate workbooks that I would like to combine, how can I do that?

Budget Worksheet for Young Adults - Professor Savings

00:51
professorsavings.com (http://www.professorsavings.com) a simple way to learn finance on youtube. Budget Worksheet for Young Adults If you have just turned 18, then it's high time that you realize that you are an adult now. One of the many things that young adults don't realize is that it is important to know how to make a budget worksheet for yourself. Get a pen and a notepad or use a spread sheet software and follow these steps to make your very own budget worksheet for young adults: 1. To make a budget worksheet, first in a vertical column right down or list all your income or the extreme left side of the sheet. Include interest, pay checks that you get. Consider after what time period you get the same. 2. In this column itself make a list of all the expenditures you make right underneath the income. Think of all the major costs incurred like food, shopping, fuel etc. Everything paid with you cards, cash and cheque must be enlisted. Do include all charges like rate of interests on a borrowed sum. 3. Consider every time frame in the row on the top of the sheet. Do you get your income in a week, in a month or quarterly. Are your expenses liable to deductions in the form of tax. Add this in this row. Now after this step, you shall have your very own point of beginning. This will help you plan better. Worksheets must always be documents ready for any sort of changes, be well aware of that. 4. Any anticipated costs must also be included in the main frame of your worksheet. Going to a good college, attending a wedding all cost money, add these and take them into account. Also consider the cash gifts you get on your birthday. Never spend this money in your head before you receive it. 5. Never forget all the small items. A coke bottle, juice, snacks also cost money. Estimate how much you eat and drink these items in a year or month. Like anything your budget worksheet for young adults should aid your willingness to achieve life goals. Keep a well maintained record and monitor your expenses. Getting started is the toughest task out of it all. But after you get the hang of it, things look a whole lot easier. As an adult you will learn to manage your finances and do a better job at saving too. Learning how to make a budget worksheet is important if one wants to do well in the future. Thanks for watching. Consolidating Data from Multiple Excel Worksheets By Position

06:54
You can quickly summarize the data contained in multiple Excel worksheets by using the Data Consolidation tool. It does not require a complicated formula. You can, if you wish create a link to the source data. However, if you are not careful, it is easy to "double" your totals. Watch as I show you how to avoid this embarrassing error. I also show you how to quickly create formulas that total values from multiple Excel worksheets. This is one of the tips available on my DVD, "The 50 Best Tips for Excel 2007." I invite you to visit my website - www.thecompanyrocks.com - to learn more about the resources that I offer.

CTC Math http://ctcmath.com/ Join with more than 217,000 students now confident in math because finally they can do it! Learn at your pace, not somebody else's Stop and rewind the teacher until you get it Builds confidence 24 x 7 unlimited access when you want it Catch up or you can even get ahead Start getting much better grades View the Tutorial Each of the 1,400+ CTC Math tutorials last around 4-9 minutes and presents the concepts of the math lesson step-by-step. Using synchronised audio and animation which harnesses both audio and visual learning styles simultaneously. CTC math lessons can be studied at home or at school and even on some modern mobile phones. Obviously no one can force a young person to study math, but what we have done here is to provide materials that are interesting and stimulating in themselves, and which will encourage the student, once started, to continue studying. Completing the Interactive Questions or Worksheet Following each math tutorial there are interactive questions or an optional printable worksheet which tests the understanding of key concepts. Answers are entered into CTC Math automated marking system which then stores the results in each individual student's ongoing progress report. This brings in the third learning style - Kinaesthetic, which is the process of actually doing the math yourself. One Page Summaries A printable one page summary of each tutorial provides the student with concise and complete notes from the math tutorial. Ideal as a reminder for homework, revision and review. View Worked Solutions After answers have been submitted, printable fully worked solutions become available showing every step which should be taken to reach the correct answer, just as it should be done in a math exam. Marking and Reports Ongoing progress reports are built for each individual. This helps parents and students in identifying weaker areas requiring further study. Every math lesson a student attempts is logged and the results stored along with statistical information detailing when they passed, what they scored and how much time and effort they put in to pass that lesson. Parents can instantly see the areas where their children may need additional help.
