My top 10 Dividend ETFs yielding 2% or more [Passive Income investing]

09:45
I have taken a look at all the top dividend ETFs and picked out the 10 best ones! This list is based on dividend payout, expense ratio, exposure, payout rate and commission-free platforms. List includes VYM, SCHD, HDV, DVY, VEA, VWO, QQQC, TDIV, IPAC and VGK. I have picked different kinds of ETFs, so not just broad US ones. A dividend is great and so are ETFs, so this is a strong combination. Investing for all is a project seeking to provide basic information about how and where to invest in stock market. The stock market is a safe place to put your money and has given great returns over hundreds of years. I often touch on topics such as Investing for beginners, stock recommendations, ETFs, stock market basics, how to find and evaluate new stocks etc. Stocks go up and down, don't invest simply based on what you hear or see in my videos. I might have a bias towards stocks I talk about, but I try informing my viewers when this might be the case. My personal stock portfolio currently consists of the following stocks: Activision Blizzard Apple Alibaba Amazon DNB BOTZ ETF Hannon Armstrong sustainable infrastructure Intel Corporation JPMorgan Lockheed Martin LIT ETF Nvidia Taktwo Interactive Vanguard small-cap growth ETF Waste Management Square Inc

Key Things to Know about Fixed Income ETFs | Fidelity

03:56
Find out more about exchange-traded funds with us at the https://www.fidelity.com/learning-center/investment-products/etf/overview To see more videos from Fidelity Investments, subscribe to: https://www.youtube.com/fidelityinvestments Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fidelityinvestments Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/fidelity Google+: https://plus.google.com/+fidelity LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/fidelity-investments ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fixed income can be a critical part of nearly every well-diversified portfolio. Used correctly, fixed income can add diversification and a steady source of income to any investor’s portfolio. But how do you choose the right fixed-income ETF? The key to choosing the right fixed-income ETF lies in what it actually holds. U.S. bonds or international bonds? Government securities or corporate debt? Bonds that come due in two years or 20 years? Each decision determines the level of risk you’re taking and the potential return. There are many types of risks to consider with bond investing. Let’s talk more about two in particular: Credit risk and Interest-rate risk. Determining the level of credit risk you want to assume is an important first step when choosing a fixed-income ETF. Do you want an ETF that only holds conservative bonds—like bonds issued by the U.S. Treasury? Or do you want one holding riskier corporate debt? The latter may pay you a higher interest rate, but if the company issuing the bond goes bankrupt, you’ll lose out. ETFs cover the full range of available credit. Look carefully at the credit quality composition of the ETFs underlying holdings, and don’t be lured in by promises of high yields unless you understand the risks. Bonds are funny. Intuitively, you would assume that higher interest rates are good for bondholders, as they can reinvest bond income at higher prevailing interest rates. But rising interest rates may be bad news, at least in the short term. Imagine that the government issues a 10-year bond paying an interest rate of 2%. But shortly thereafter, the U.S. Federal Reserve hikes interest rates. Now, if the government wants to issue a new 10-year bond, it has to pay 3% a year in interest. No one is going to pay the same amount for the 2% bond as the 3% bond; instead, the price of the 2% bond will have to fall to make its yield as attractive as the new, higher-yielding security. That’s how bonds work, like a seesaw: As yields rise, prices fall and vice versa. Another important measure to consider when looking at interest rate risk is duration which helps to approximate the degree of price sensitivity of a bond to changes in interest rates. The longer the duration, the more any change in interest rates will affect your investment. Conversely, the shorter the duration, the less any change in interest rates will affect your investment. Let’s review a few other considerations when looking at fixed income ETFs. First, expense ratios: Because your expected return in a bond ETF is lower than in most stock ETFs, expenses take on extra importance. Generally speaking, the lower the fees, the better. Second, tracking difference: It can be harder to run a bond index fund than an equity fund, so you may see significant variation between the fund’s performance and the index’s returns. Try to seek out funds with low levels of tracking difference, meaning they track their index well. Finally, some bonds can be illiquid. As a result, it’s extra important to look out for bond ETFs with good trading volumes and tight spreads. There are other factors to watch for too, but these are the basics. ETFs can be a great tool for accessing the bond space, but as with anything, it pays to know what you’re buying before you make the leap. 6 Dividend Growth ETFs for Quality Market Exposure

04:15
ETF strategies that focus on elite dividend-paying companies can be a good way to enhance a portfolio and reduce one's risk exposure. "These are the securities that have consistently paid, well, increased the dividend for the last twenty-five consecutive years," Aye Soe, Managing Director, Global Research & Design, S&P Dow Jones Indices, said at Inside ETFs. "That's a very long time when you think about that, and that means that they are a special bunch with very solid balance sheets." For example, the ProShares S&P 500 Aristocrats ETF (BATS: NOBL), which tracks the S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats Index, targets the cream of the crop, only selecting components that have increased their dividends for at least 25 consecutive years. Consequently, investors are left with a portfolio of high-quality, sustainable dividend payers as opposed to more high-yield focused funds that may contain companies on more precarious financial positions.

Dividend Stocks Vs. Dividend ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds)

15:33
You like dividend checks. However, you are unsure whether you should pursue individual dividend-paying stocks or dividend-focused ETFs (exchange traded funds). Today's video, a response to a subscriber question, compares and contrasts individual dividend growth stocks versus dividend mutual funds (ETFs), through my personal lens. While I cannot answer this question for others, I can share my personal pros and cons when I compare the two, and how I decided to proceed in my personal stock portfolio. Specifically, I cover: * Two specific ETF (exchange traded fund) examples from a major ETF mutual fund family. * Why starting yields may be a bit too low with ETFs. * Why I love the control that individual, dividend stocks offer. (And, their lack of ongoing fees is nice too.) * How one can derive more value (when stocks are "on sale") via individual stocks versus mutual funds (which offer a basket of stocks). This is a critical point. The stock market, in my opinion, is not efficient. By holding individual dividend stocks, I get to buy bargains all the time. * When ETFs and mutual funds may make sense (namely retirement accounts where individual stocks are not an option, or those that have smaller portfolios without the prospect of large-scale growth). * How I hope and dream that everyone watching has a million dollar (or more) dividend stock portfolio, one that pays massive cash flow. Today's video is a bit contrarian, and that's ok. My goal is one of early financial freedom and massive passive income. Since my goals are a bit unconventional, my personal finance strategy has been a bit unconventional too. Dividend investing: (Are Individual Stocks Best For Dividends?)🥊 Stocks Versus Etfs For Dividends!

10:39
Dividend investing: (Are Individual Stocks Best For Dividends?)🥊 Find out as we take Stocks Versus Etfs For Dividends! Our complete investing library can be found here: Stock Market Investing: https://goo.gl/hi2kK4 Dividend Investing Playlist: https://goo.gl/njSrk2 Reason #1 Payout Predictability -One of the nice things about investing in dividend paying stocks is you will know exactly when your dividend payment will be received. -Its easier to estimate how much your dividend payment will be. -Also, you can more easily the gauge the financial health of the individual company. All of the factors above makes budgeting a little easier especially if you are retired or are consider retiring soon. I think you will have a safer and more predictable income by building your own portfolio that primarily consist of individual stocks. With dividend paying etfs this can be more challenging to predict dividend payouts because the etfs are typically made up 50 or 100 or more stocks. Some of companies the etfs hold can be low quality companies who may cut their dividend payouts and you might see a drop in dividend income. The idea of picking individual stocks takes a bit more of a time investment, but I find it is worth it if you don’t mind the extra time commitment. These days I only need to spend about 1 - 4 hours per month to know what I want to invest in so the time commitment isn’t too big. Reason #2 Stocks are easier to analyze Personally I feel stocks are easier to analyze than etfs because you can look at the financials of each company one at a time. There are ways to analyze etfs, but I feel from experience that I can do a much deeper company analysis with individual stocks. Reason #3 Fee Fi Fo FUm (Investment fees) One of the things I love about investing in individual stocks is that I only have to buy them one time and I incur no further commissions. Etfs are low cost, but if you grow your account to 1,000,000 for example that .001 or .003 can cost you $1,000 to $3,000 per year in fees. Compare that to platform that charges no commissions or even just $6.95 on stock purchases. Even if I invest in 4 times per month. 12 times per year i’m only paying $333.66 regardless if my account is worth millions or not. I invest less frequently than that so my annual commissions are typically $200 or less per year. Remember once you buy the stock and hold onto it you never have to pay another fee unless you sell it. Reason #4 Customization We all like things customized. Like customizing our character in Red Dead redemption 2. Why shouldn’t we customize our portfolio as well. When investing for dividends by purchasing stocks you are able to customize your portfolio the way you like. -You can purchase companies that pay dividends monthly, quarterly, annually etc . - You can Diversify by industry, and have more control how diversified your portfolio actually. - you can customize your yield Once again it takes more work and research to purchase individual stocks, however, I think you will get better customization for your dividend portfolio than by investing in etfs. Reason #5. Higher yields Speaking of yields I generally find yields paid by many etfs are too low for most people’s retirement needs. In my opinion its going to take too much capital to have a safe income in retirement if your etfs are only yielding around 2%. Realistically most Americans would be unable to put away that much money away. At that yield rate you would need about 2.5 million dividend paying assets to achieve an annual income around $50,000. Obviously these are just rough numbers, but let's be honest most people are just not going to have that sort of income to invest that much money for retirement unless they have been putting away money most of their lives. Just so you guys know successful companies generally raise their payouts overtime any from 2 - 7% per year on average. These payout increases will help to fuel your retirement income as well. However, if you are one of those who can’t stand the idea of research stocks and learning about investing than I think etfs are still a good alternative. The etfs should still help propel you retirement account in the right direction when it comes to investing for dividends. 3 Best Monthly Dividend Stocks for Passive Income

16:09
These three monthly dividend stocks will solve the problem of dividend investing and that quarterly dividend payment. I’m not only revealing the best monthly dividend stocks but also how to find them and one warning sign you don’t want to miss. I love dividend investing but the problem with most stocks is that they pay out only four times a year. That makes it impossible to plan your dividend cash flow to pay bills. That’s why I invest part of my dividend investing strategy in monthly dividend stocks. Not only do these stocks put cash in your pocket every month but they are some of the highest paying dividend stocks you’ll find. In this video, I’m highlighting three special types of stocks that pay dividends every month as well as how to value these types of companies. I’ll walk you through how to find dividend stocks and some warning signs that will keep you from losing money. I’m also revealing my three favorite monthly dividend stocks that offer dividend yields over 6% and price returns that will boost your portfolio. Start your dividend portfolio with these stocks and you’ll never have to worry about cash flow again. After watching this video, make sure you watch my dividend warning signs video that details three things to watch for when dividend investing. A dividend cut will destroy a stock’s value and I’ve got three warning signs of when to sell. https://youtu.be/eRlSRYJ9qTM I love dividend stocks so much that I’m creating a special portfolio in the 2019 Grow Your Dough Challenge with some of the biggest investing channels here on YouTube. You can track my portfolio of dividend stocks and how I pick stocks in this video [stock market challenge video] Important Note: I know a lot of investors will complain about the length and how much time I spend talking through these special types of monthly dividend stocks before getting to those three best monthly dividend stocks. I'm leaving a clickable index below to jump to a section...but I HIGHLY recommend watching the entire video. If you are going to be investing in these types of companies, you MUST understand how they're run and special ways to value the shares. The companies that pay monthly dividends are not like other stocks. You need to know the differences and what to watch for or you could end up losing money instead of growing your wealth. 0:40 Why Every Investor Needs Monthly Dividend Stocks 2:30 A Warning about Monthly Dividend Investing 4:10 How to Find the Best Dividend Stocks 5:11 How to Invest in Passive Income Dividends 9:22 Why I Love REITs for Monthly Dividend Yield 13:30 My Three Best Monthly Dividend Stocks SUBSCRIBE to create the financial future you deserve with videos on beating debt, making more money and making your money work for you. https://peerfinance101.com/FreeMoneyVideos YouTube Community Exclusive: 55% Off my Goals-Based Investing Strategy Course! Real estate investment trusts or REITs are a popular financial vehicle among income investors because of their shareholder-friendly design. There are several requirements a company must meet in order to be considered a REIT, but the two most commonly known factors are: the company must distribute 90% of its taxable income to shareholders, and real estate must make up a minimum of 75% of its total assets. Dividend Fund Showdown! (ETF vs. ETF)

08:42
#Dividends #Dividendstocks Dividend Fund Showdown! In this video I discuss two dividend exchange traded funds or "ETFs" from two different fund companies. We'll look at total return, expense ratio, yield, volatility, sector weightings, and much more. THE VALUE LINE® DIVIDEND INDEX METHODOLOGY The Value Line® Dividend Index is an equal-dollar weighted index comprised of U.S. exchange-listed securities. The index methodology is focused on quality companies that have an above-average dividend yield. Value Line tracks 1700 stocks from 100 industries. Registered investment companies, limited partnerships and foreign securities not listed in the U.S. are excluded. The universe is screened to eliminate any stock that fails to achieve a 1 or 2 rank by Value Line’s “Safety” ranking system on a scale of 1 (highest score) to 5 (lowest score). Included in Value Line’s proprietary Safety ranking system is an evaluation of a stock’s volatility over the previous five years, as well as its “Financial Strength” rating, which is Value Line’s measure of a company’s financial condition. Financial strength is determined by a variety of factors including a company’s debt to capital ratio, amount of cash on hand, level and consistency of sales and profits, returns on capital, as well as a company’s position and performance within an industry. Select stocks with an indicated dividend yield greater than that of the Standard & Poor’s 500 Composite Stock Price Index and a market cap of $1 billion or more. The index is equally weighted to eliminate single stock risk and the process is repeated monthly. - Ftportfolios.com Buy dividend stocks commission free and receive a cash bonus: https://mbsy.co/qgvmm Connect with me on Instagram: @kennyrrobinson Mailing Address: P.O. Two Optimized Dividend ETFs for Income Seekers

As the U.S. anticipates greater rate risk ahead for the fixed-income markets, more income-minded investors are steering towards dividend stocks and dividend ETFs to bolster yield generation. "A lot of advisors are really sort of in a pickle trying to find income when it comes to high levels of income for their advisory - their end users, and what we're seeing is that a lot of advisors are really moving outside the more traditional fixed income portfolios and finding yields elsewhere," Lance McGray, Managing Director and Head of ETF Product at Advisors Asset Management, said at the Inside ETFs 2018 conference. In response to the ongoing demand for yields, Advisor Asset Management recently rolled out the AAM S&P 500 High Dividend Value ETF (NYSEArca: SPDV) and the AAM S&P Emerging Markets High Dividend Value ETF (NYSEArca: EEMD).

Investing In REITs For Dividends (Pros & Cons of Real Estate Investment Trusts)

16:15
Are you considering an investment in REITs (or Real Estate Investment Trusts) for dividends and cash flow? I personally own only one REIT in my dividend portfolio and consider my REIT an ancillary (non-core) position. That being said, I am in a unique situation because I work in the real estate industry and own a home (I am already over-weighted, at a high level, in the real estate industry). A subscriber question, today's video goes into a multitude of pros, cons, and factors to consider about investing in real estate investment trusts for dividend income. * Do you work in the real estate industry? Do you already own a home? Do you own physical real estate investments? If so, those are all factors worth considering when contemplating REITs for one’s dividend portfolio. When looking at diversification, I don't only look at my portfolio. I look at all factors in my life. If the real estate industry tanks, I don't want to get hit on the job front, the home front, and the portfolio front all at once! * Real estate investment trusts carry important tax considerations. As pass through entities, they avoid double taxation (and are required to distribute most of their earnings). That said, the shareowner has to pay ordinary income on dividends (as compared to long term capital gains on qualified dividends of most corporations). Long story short, the tax rate on dividends from REITs is higher than your typical dividend-paying corporation. Moreover, reporting REIT dividends on one's tax return can be complicated (the distributions sometimes involve ordinary income and return of capital). Learn why it's important to weigh tax considerations when investing in real estate investment trusts for dividends and cash flow. * Since some REITs pay dividends on a monthly basis, they can help you stay in the game. Those monthly dividend checks are great for reinvesting and building one’s portfolio. A subscriber insight, I really love this idea! * Interest rates are really low right now. As interest rates rise, some REITs may face challenges securing (affordable) capital to do deals. This could affect short-term and future prospects. * The retail industry is going through a lot of change. When investing in REITs, it's a wise idea to understand exposure to retail. * Sometimes, one can experience superior results by investing in real estate directly. It may be more effective to invest in rental properties than going the REIT route. That said, real estate investment trusts are easier since one does not have to actively manage the real estate assets. Monthly Dividend Income For Steady Cash Flow

08:43
#Passiveincome #Dividendstocks #Investing Monthly Dividend Income For Steady Cash Flow Receiving monthly dividend income is, in my opinion, ideal for several reasons. 1. The more frequent cash flow (compared to quarterly) makes budgeting much easier. Imagine having an employer that only paid you every 3 months! And for some of us who are in accumulation mode, monthly dividends offer more opportunity for returns to be compounded. And with compounding occurring more frequently, higher total returns can be achieved long-term. Although, there’s a slight challenge. Most dividend paying stocks in today’s market reward shareholders on a quarterly basis. Now don’t get me wrong, there are dozens of equities out there that pay monthly, but most of those are baskets of BDC’s, CEFs, or other leveraged/ non-leveraged products that come with a higher risk of dividend cuts, massive volatility, and loss of principal. In this video I talk about the three methods I use to receive steady monthly cash flow from dividends. My 2019 dividend investing strategy for passive income 💸 Dividend Portfolio

08:20
How to invest in dividend stocks for beginners One of my novelty goals in life is to have $10,000/mo in pure, unadulterated, beautiful passive income And one of the ways I plan on achieving that is with dividend stocks So I’d thought it be cool to share with you my investing strategy that I’m doing right now for 2019 to build up to this long term goal of $10,000/mo in passive income NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE. What stocks am I investing in Here’s the thing - I want to be really lazy with the stock market Set it and forget it mentality Maybe that will change in the future Therefore, even tho there are individual stocks with super high dividend yields, meaning they pay you more in dividends, I don’t want to have to check up on them on a regular basis to make sure they’re still a good investment Enter dividend ETFs (exchange-traded funds) With dividend ETFs, you get all the benefits of ETFs and index funds that we all love (like Graham Stephan talks about in his video on the best investment) You get the own tons of stocks by just buying one share Risk is diversified Stability Warren Buffet saying the average person should just invest in index funds Getting higher long term returns than most professional fund managers Ability to be lazy But the big benefit for me that sweet, sweet cash flow from the dividends What is a dividend? Dividends explained: when typically established companies have steady growth so they pay out left over money to investors and shareholders Normal index funds are great, but if you want to have hard cash to use, you have to sell some shares With dividend index funds, consistent cash coming in typically every quarter on top of appreciation (at least the ones I have aren't monthly dividend stocks) You can spend that money like regular income or reinvest it (dividend reinvestment) to have it compound ontop of eachother Here are the dividend stocks in my dividend portfolio, they are NOT dividend growth stocks or am I following the dividend growth model or doing dividend growth investing or dividend discount model or value investing model These are my top and best dividend stocks and make for great dividend investing for beginners if you're wondering how to invest in dividend stocks Follows the popular 3 fund portfolio strategy except with dividend ETFs VYM 70%, VYMI 20%, and VBTLX 10% VYM: Vanguard High Dividend Yield ETF US high yield dividend stocks 70% of my stock market money goes in here 3.25% dividend yield Meaning $10,000 would bring $325 per year in dividends Dividends come quarterly Average 7.70% yearly appreciation VYMI: Vanguard International High Dividend Yield ETF International high yield dividend stocks 20% 2.94% dividend yield Dividends come quarterly Average of 10.13% yearly appreciation, still pretty new though (2016) so could go down BND: Vanguard Total Bond Market ETF U.S. investment-grade bonds 10% Not a dividend ETF, but this way not all of my money is in the stock market, a little goes into the bond market Average 3.99% yearly appreciation And once I put money into these ETFs, I plan on keeping it there for pretty much the rest of my life So to get $10,000/mo or $120k/yr coming in, with an average 3% dividend yield, I’d need a little over $4m in dividend ETFs That’s a lot of money So instead of just putting all of my money into dividend stocks, a portion of my savings will go into a savings account for other investments that could bring me a lot more than 3% dividend yield It just won’t be as passive, which I’m okay with The rest will go into this dividend portfolio So here’s my strategy from start to finish After all my expenses which are mostly necessary expenses, I put the rest of my income, no matter how much it is into savings/investing fund 80% goes into an Ally savings account that pays 2.2% per year Active investments, business, real estate in the future 20% goes into my dividend fund which we just went over VYM 70%, VYMI 20%, and VBTLX 10% #dividendstocks #dividends #investing --------------------------------------- 🎥 My Video Gear! 📹 https://kit.com/jaketran.io/entrepreneur-video-gear-starter-pack 💾 My Online Entrepreneur Setup 💻 http://bit.ly/entrepreneur-setup 📚 Books I Live By 📜 http://bit.ly/entrepreneur-books-that-changed-my-life Copyright © 2019 Jake Tran.
