Radon Hazards in Uranium Mining 1960s

02:39
This is clipped from the the United States Bureau of Mines film, Radiation Protection in Uranium Mines, produced during the 1960s. Uranium mining occurred mostly in the southwestern United States and drew many Native Americans and others into work in the mines and mills. Despite a long and well-developed understanding, based on the European experience earlier in the century, that uranium mining led to high rates of lung cancer, few protections were provided by employers or government for US miners before 1962 and their adoption after that time was slow and incomplete. The resulting high rates of illness among miners led in 1990 to passage of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act. For more details, see the outstanding article, The History of Uranium Mining and the Navajo People, in the Sept 2002 American Journal of Public Health at http://www.ajph.org/cgi/reprint/92/9/1410 . The entire film, which mostly focuses on mine ventilation, is available from the Internet Archives

http://ifyoulovethisplanet.org/?p=5785 Dr. Helen Caldicott's websites: http://ifyoulovethisplanet.org http://nuclearfreeplanet.org/ http://www.helencaldicott.com/ "Prof. Doug Brugge on the medical effects of uranium mining and how mining particularly harms Native peoples" This week's guest is Doug Brugge, a professor in the Department of Public Health and Community Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He is the author of The Navajo People and Uranium Mining and the associate editor of the Journal of Immigrant and Minority Health. His research includes studies of asthma; the impact of culture and language on health communication; the impact of environmental tobacco smoke; traffic pollution and cardiovascular disease; and the impact of uranium mining and processing on Native Americans. Prof. Brugge and Dr. Caldicott cover how they both started their antinuclear activism with Native peoples in the U.S. and Australia, respectively. Topics discussed in this episode include the health effects of radon, how uranium mining induces lung cancer, the cover-up of the harm caused to Native American uranium miners and their communities, the enlargement of uranium mining operations in Australia and elsewhere, and how Native peoples in many places, from India to Canada to North America and Australia, find themselves in harm's way when their land is found to contain mineable uranium. Let's face it: Humans are pretty messy. Industrial processes like mining and manufacturing are important parts of keeping civilization going, but they all impact the environment. Sometimes that impact is particularly big and messy, leaving behind hazardous waste that can take years or even decades to clean up. Canaries in the Uranium Mine~ The Abandoned Uranium Mine Crisis

01:39:16
Nuclear power is dirty--from cradle to grave. At the beginning of the fuel chain, uranium mining, milling, processing and enrichment cause widespread environmental devastation and produces enormous quantities of radioactive and toxic waste. Nuclear reactor operation results in routine releases of dangerous radioactivity into our air and water, and, as shown at Chernobyl and Fukushima, major reactor accidents can make areas of our planet permanently uninhabitable. The radioactive waste generated by reactors is nearly instantly lethal, and will remain hazardous for millenia. And, to date, there is no scientifically-defensible, publicly-acceptable solution for radioactive waste storage. https://youtu.be/7H0-hHMF0EA Nuclear Power Is Dirty Campaign w/ NIRS #NuclearPowerIsDirty https://youtu.be/LBgDFdPRPfE 2016 03 25 15 01 Canaries in the Uranium Mine The Abandoned Uranium Mine Crisis and the Campaign to https://youtu.be/i8UNEy1vcqI This video is from March 25, 2016 NIRS webinar on widespread radioactive contamination around abandoned uranium mines across the U.S. and the campaign to force their clean-up. https://youtu.be/i8UNEy1vcqI You can subscribe to their YouTube channel Here: NirsNet http://tinyurl.com/zgfmygl Nuclear Information and Resource Service (NIRS) http://www.nirs.org/ Twitter: @NIRSNET Kakrapar plant leakage: All future atomic power expansion plans should be put on hold, says former AERB chief http://tinyurl.com/zro46r3 Kakrapar Nuclear Plant Is Likely Undergoing A Loss-Of-Coolant Accident: Dr. A. Gopalakrishnan read article in full here: http://tinyurl.com/j64lb79 The Kakrapar Unit-1 PHWR Primary System Leakage Incident on March 11, 2016 The Kakrapar Unit-I nuclear reactor in Gujarat is undergoing a moderately large leakage of heavy water from its Primary Heat Transport (PHT) system since 9.00 AM on March 11,2016. From the very limited information released by the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) and the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) of the government , as well as from the conversations I had with press people who have been in touch with nuclear officials, few inferences can be drawn. Till 7.00 PM on March 12,2016 , the DAE officials have no clue as to where exactly the PHT leak is located and how big is the rate of irradiated heavy water that is leaking into the reactor containment . However, some reports indicate that the containment has been vented to the atmosphere at least once , if not more times , which I suspect indicates a tendency for pressure build up in that closed space due to release of hot heavy water and steam into the containment housing . If this is true, the leak is not small , but moderately large , and still continuing. No one confirms that any one has entered the containment (in protective clothing) for a quick physical assessment of the situation , perhaps it is not safe to do so because of the high radiationfields inside . When NPCIL officials state that the reactor cooling is maintained , I believe what they may be doing is to allow the heavy water or light water stored in the emergency cooling tanks to run once-through the system and continue to pour through the leak into the containment floor through the break . All this points to the likelihood that what Kakrapar Unit-1 is undergoing is a small Loss-of-Coolant Accident (LOCA) in progress. It is most likely that one or more pressure tubes (PT) in the reactor (which contain the fuel bundles) have cracked open , leaking hot primary system heavy-water coolant into the containment housing . The reactor cooling is said to be maintained which , in view of the PT breach , can only be by supply of heavy water or light water from the storage tanks of the emergency cooling systems . While it may perhaps ensure bulk coolant temperatures in the PHT system to be well under control , it could still mean fuel centreline temperatures in the channel which may have a breach could be quite high . The seriousness of the accident and the potential high risks to the plant and personnel in the near vicinity are yet to be assessed , because NPCIL and AERB do not yet know where the location of the leak is or how to initiate actions to stop it. They were waiting for a team of AERB Specialists to reach Kakrapar in the afternoon of March 12 th. (today) to jointly decide between AERB & NPCIL how to proceed from here on. This is therefore a potentially serious accident in progress read article in full here: http://tinyurl.com/j64lb79 Japan Diary 2016, Fukushima+5, Part 6. “Dose” does not exist, only exposure http://safeenergy.org/ Nuclear Power and Climate: It's No Solution Don't Nuke the Climate! http://www.nirs.org/cop21/dontnukethe... What is PEAK URANIUM? What does PEAK URANIUM mean? PEAK URANIUM meaning, definition & explanation

What is PEAK URANIUM? What does PEAK URANIUM mean? PEAK URANIUM meaning - PEAK URANIUM definition - PEAK URANIUM explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Peak uranium is the point in time that the maximum global uranium production rate is reached. After that peak, according to Hubbert peak theory, the rate of production enters a terminal decline. While uranium is used in nuclear weapons, its primary use is for energy generation via nuclear fission of the uranium-235 isotope in a nuclear power reactor. Each kilogram of uranium-235 fissioned releases the energy equivalent of millions of times its mass in chemical reactants, as much energy as 2700 tons of coal, but uranium-235 is only 0.7% of the mass of natural uranium. Uranium-235 is a finite non-renewable resource. However, the current reserves of uranium have the potential (assuming breeder reactor technology) to provide power for humanity for billions of years, until the death of our sun, so nuclear power can be termed sustainable energy. Observers contend that idea of "energy independence" is an unrealistic concept in relation with Liquid metal fast breeder reactor. M. King Hubbert created his peak theory in 1956 for a variety of finite resources such as coal, oil, and natural gas. He and others since have argued that if the nuclear fuel cycle can be closed, uranium could become equivalent to renewable energy sources as concerns its availability. Breeding and nuclear reprocessing potentially would allow the extraction of the largest amount of energy from natural uranium. However, only a small amount of uranium is currently being bred into plutonium and only a small amount of fissile uranium and plutonium is being recovered from nuclear waste worldwide. Furthermore, the technologies to completely eliminate the waste in the nuclear fuel cycle do not yet exist. Since the nuclear fuel cycle is effectively not closed, Hubbert peak theory may be applicable. Pessimistic predictions of future high-grade uranium production operate on the thesis that either the peak has already occurred in the 1980s or that a second peak may occur sometime around 2035. At the start of 2011, the identified uranium resources recoverable at US$130/kg were 5.33 million tons and annual consumption was 65,000 tons, providing sufficient reserves for 81 years ignoring growth. Nuclear reactors provided 375 GWe of electricity capacity. However, two years later, the identified remaining uranium resources stood at 5.90 million tons, an increase of 10.8%, even though 104,000 tons had been mined in the interim. The identified resource at the start of 2013 was enough to supply reactors at current consumption rates for more than 120 years, even if no additional uranium deposits are discovered in the meantime. Undiscovered uranium resources as of 2013 were estimated to be 7.7 million tons. Doubling the price of uranium would increase the identified reserves as of 2013 to 7.64 million tons. The increase in identified remaining reserves 2011-2013 is part of a longer trend. Over the decade 2003-2013, the identified reserves of uranium (at the same price of US$130/kg) rose from 4.59 million tons in 2003 to 5.90 million tons in 2013, a increase of 28%. Optimistic predictions are based upon 3 factors: 1. Light Water Reactors only consume about half of one percent of their uranium fuel while fast breeder reactors will consume closer to 99%, 2. current reserves of U are about 5.3 million tons. Theoretically 4.5 billion tons of uranium are available from sea water at about 10 times the current price of uranium. Currently no practical methods for high volume extraction exist. 3. thorium (3-4 times as abundant as uranium) can be used when supplies of uranium are depleted. If these predictions became reality it has the potential to increase the supply of nuclear fuel significantly. Optimistic predictions claim that the supply is far more than demand and do not predict peak uranium.

What is URANIUM METALLURGY? What does URANIUM METALLURGY mean? URANIUM METALLURGY meaning

What is URANIUM METALLURGY? What does URANIUM METALLURGY mean? URANIUM METALLURGY meaning - URANIUM METALLURGY definition - URANIUM METALLURGY explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. In materials science and materials engineering, uranium metallurgy is the study of the physical and chemical behavior of uranium and its alloys. Commercial-grade uranium can be produced through the reduction of uranium halides with alkali or alkaline earth metals. Uranium metal can also be made through electrolysis of KUF5 or UF4, dissolved in a molten CaCl2 and NaCl. Very pure uranium can be produced through the thermal decomposition of uranium halides on a hot filament. The uranium isotope 235U is used as the fuel for nuclear reactors and nuclear weapons. It is the only isotope existing in nature to any appreciable extent that is fissile, that is, fissionable by thermal neutrons. The isotope 238U is also important because it absorbs neutrons to produce a radioactive isotope that subsequently decays to the isotope 239Pu (plutonium), which also is fissile. Uranium in its natural state comprises just 0.71% 235U and 99.3% 238U, and the main focus of uranium metallurgy is the enrichment of uranium through isotope separation.

#NorthernVertex $NEE.V $NHVCF Moss Mine In NW Arizona Could Be Economic Boon To Region

14:15
http://goldstocktrades.com/blog Now that the Fed has met and increased interest rates for the third time, I expect more capital to rotate from overvalued stocks to the junior miners similar to what we saw after the dot com crash. This bubble in stocks could be on the verge of a precipitous fall which could abruptly wipe out the capital chasing stocks higher into nosebleed levels. Bitcoin and paper currencies are losing favor while gold and silver may come back later this year and certainly in 2018 when many of the major producers are set for a supply shortfall. As stocks correct and treasury yields rise with rising inflation more investors will flock to our illiquid junior mining sector seeking tangible assets for protection and a hedge against hyperinflation. The junior mining sector is small compared to the 70’s and 80’s when gold was much higher when inflation is considered. I expect to see more gold and silver mining funds get started. Once we breakthrough old highs of 2011 with gold and silver things will go ballistic for junior gold miners especially new emerging producers who are coming into production while the tired old producers are looking for new high grade, low cost replacement reserves. That is why I scour spending hours searching the junior markets for the 3-5 emerging low cost gold producers which could be rerated as they progress into commercial production and get noticed by the general market and value funds. I recently discussed a new optimization plan with $NEE.V $NHVCF #northernvertex CEO Ken Berry on the Moss Mine just south of Las Vegas in NW Arizona. They recently put out news about proposing a power line be built to the property which could save the mine $16 million over five years. This is exciting for all the fundamentals of the project which is already extremely impressive. The job creation could create an economic boon to the region especially if the company finds more mineralization below the vein at depth. They are actively drilling and had some exciting results weeks ago showing some exciting upside potential. The power line is much better than the generators that were planned as it will reduce emissions considerably. The mine could definitely help out the region which has been hit hard with high unemployment and could improve some of the nearby infrastructure and roads. Remember this company owns one of the lowest cost gold mines going into production with all in sustaining costs way below $700 per ounce. I am shocked that more mid-tiers or majors have not at least taken an equity stake in this project of just under 20% or 10%. If you are a miner this is a project you want to work at as Bullhead City is just 20 minutes from the site. So miners with families can be home for supper which is a rare opportunity. Construction is underway and over 45 million has been put into this project to date. Its a tremendous location for a new mine near Vegas and Phoenix and it should be put on your radar. This company is on the doorstep of production however pay attention to the step out drilling they are doing which could significantly expand mine life and resources. I would say the next couple of months could be quite exciting for Northern Vertex $NEE.V $NHVCF as they advance the Moss Mine closer to production in 2017. After highlighting the company earlier this year the stock shot up in price allowing existing warrant holders to exercise their positions strengthening the treasury and improving the balance sheet of Northern Vertex. Listen to my full interview with $NEE.V $NHVCF #northernvertex CEO Ken Berry by clicking here… Disclosure: I own Northern Vertex and they are a website sponsor so please be aware I have conflict of interests and hope to benefit from price increases.  This contains forward looking statements which may not come to fruition as small cap stocks are incredibly risky.  Buyer beware!  I am not a financial advisor and this is not investment advice or a solicitation to buy or sell stock.  This should be considered an advertisement and not investment advice! http://goldstocktrades.com/blog/ Section 17(b) provides that: “It shall be unlawful for any person, by the use of any means or instruments of transportation or communication in interstate commerce or by the use of the mails, to publish, give publicity to, or circulate any notice, circular, advertisement, newspaper, article, letter, investment service, or communication, which, though not purporting to offer a security for sale, describes such security for a consideration received or to be received, directly or indirectly, from an issuer, underwriter, or dealer, without fully disclosing the receipt, whether past or prospective, of such consideration and the amount thereof.”

Brunkow Mine SE Arizona 1993

02:56
This home video shows Arizona pit mines and the famous Brunckow Mine. I've been there many times. Definitely the bloodiest cabin in Arizona's history. Frederick Brunckow, a German mining engineer, built the cabin in 1858 while he was working some of his claims nearby. 21 people were known to be killed here including Brunckow. 17 of the killings took place before 1880. Brunckow was killed by Mexicans who put his own rock drill through him and threw him down one of his shafts. Today, it is rumored the cabin is haunted and there have been many reports of people camping at the cabin and seeing ghosts. More complete article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brunckow%27s_Cabin

1/04/2016 -- Hammond + Bundy "Ranches" -- Volcanoes, Gold, URANIUM + BLM / Government

15:54
Armed standoff in Oregon due to a 'Rancher' and a fight with the BLM? Deja Vu! This just happened in Oregon a few months ago, and again in 2014 in Nevada with the Bundy "ranch"! But there is something hidden behind these "ranchers", and the government that I think we should all be made aware of (before you put your support behind these strangers out in the woods, or before you might support the BLM on any claim, you should know that there is serious MONEY at stake in the ground at each location -- read on to find out how/why). April 2015 / Gold Hill, Oregon -- There was a BLM standoff over a Gold mine + people in the back country laying claim to the land -- Militia deployed, youtube video freakout, main stream media smear job, and government propaganda .. all over a series of Gold mines that people were pulling from that the Government seized control over. The whole bit happened just a few months back... now it is happening again in the same state, and again at a location know for precious metals? I find this connection suspicious, especially since this is the THIRD time in 1 year. Video from a few months ago covering the last Oregon BLM / Militia standoff over the Gold mines: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZGTumFVgCI ____ Now again in Oregon, January 2016 -- Malheur Oregon now sees their own militia standoff.. again most likely over precious metals in the ground (shh! hush hush on this , don't tell anyone about the GOLD and URANIUM at stake). https://www.google.com/search?q=malheur+uranium&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 https://www.google.com/search?q=malheur+gold+deposits&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 _______ Here is Montagraph's video calling this whole Oregon situation out as a setup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvY2ej_PcqA _____ Here is the full breakdown of the Bundy "ranch" + Gold Butte Nevada, the location of tons of Gold, and also other precious metals at Bundy's "ranch" in Gold Butte Nevada: https://www.google.com/search?q=dutchsinse+gold+butte&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 http://www.friendsofgoldbutte.org/about/historical-resources/ https://www.google.com/search?q=gold+butte+nevada https://www.google.com/search?q=gold+butte+nevada+WWI+copper http://silverstateghosttowns.com/goldbutte.html http://kensphotogallery.blogspot.com/2015/01/daytrip-gold-butte-town-site-gold-butte.html ____ We all remember the BLM / Bundy Ranch standoff which occurred in 2014. Most people don't know, the Nevada land grab was NOT about "cattle". The Bundy "ranch" was about Gold Butte, Nevada. Gold Butte is an old dormant butte volcano, and an old GOLD MINING TOWN which was shut down by the government between 1905 -1908. During World War 1 a large majority of the copper and silver used in the war came from around this location in Clark County Nevada. Ironically, 100 years ago is the time where Bundy claims his family began ranching the area. It is odd that the families that stayed behind AFTER the government shut down the post office (on purpose shut down to cut off supply to the town).... turned out to be ranchers --- and that was 100 years ago. Bundy, an old man now in 2015 must have been passed down a "family secret" about the Gold deposits, silver deposits, and other precious metals in the ground at Gold Butte, NV. The whole BLM land grab in 2014 was about Gold. Which is why Harry Reid wanted to strip mine the area and build a "solar farm" on Gold Butte after they level the mountainside and get the contents of the stripped surface and subsurface. ______ Gold Butte is located about 33 miles southeast of Glendale Nevada. Mica was first discovered here in 1873, and then gold in 1905. By the next year, a post office was built. A gold rush in 1908 brought in more people, and the townsite now had a hotel, livery stable, post office, mercantile, and several residences. Another camp named Copper City was started two miles west at the site of the short-lived Lincoln copper mine. By 1910 the gold rush was over and most mining operations ceased. No buildings remain, only a couple concrete slabs / foundations, two graves, and several old mine shafts. Mining is thought to have begun in the 1700’s when the Spanish left remnants of their efforts in the form of arrastras. An arrastra is a large flat rock hollowed out over which a donkey would drag another rock to crush the ore. There are four known arrastras in the Gold Butte townsite area. In the 1800’s mica was being mined and shipped from the area. Gold was discovered in 1906 and by 1907 Gold Butte was booming with a speculated population of 2,000. By 1909 the boom went bust and the post office was removed from the townsite of Gold Butte. Mining continued in the area as the Grand Gulch copper mine produced much of the needed copper for World War

Namibia's Uranium Rush

30:36
Uranium mining companies have been exploring the arid country of Namibia looking to open new mines. Rössing, a Rio Tinto mine has already been operational for more than 30 years. The implications this mine and future operations is explored from the perspective of the communities living nearby. Through this documentary and two reports (http://www.criirad.org/mines-uranium/namibie/uranium-mining-namibia.html), the EJOLT (www.ejolt.org) team working on nuclear energy sheds light on the dangers of uranium mining in Namibia. Two NGOs in Namibia (Earthlife Namibia and LaRRI), a French independent laboratory specialised in radiation (CRIIRAD) and team coordinator Marta Conde (UAB) partnered to produce this remarkable set of action oriented resources. After a public event on the 10th April 2014 in London -- together with other activists from Madagascar, Papua New Guinea and the US who are also impacted by the activities of Rio Tinto -- an article appeared in The Guardian (http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/apr/15/uranium-workers-dying-cancer-rio-tinto-namibia-mine). This event was organised prior to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Rio Tinto that took place on the 15th April 2014. In the AGM, Roger Moody from PARTIZANS presented the results of the study carried out by Earthlife and LaRRI on the impact of uranium mining on workers. Colorado Experience: Uranium Mania

26:41
America's explosive successes in peace and war were fueled by the radioactive wealth from the Colorado Plateau. The mineral carnotite was a "Pandora's rock" of scientific, medical, industrial and military power for 20th Century America with its unleashed resources of radium, vanadium and uranium. Even though the energetic and frenetic mining and refining of uranium ore in Western Colorado has mostly ceased, its remaining trace elements of memory and controversy still radiate from Uravan and Grand Junction throughout the state, the nation and the world.

Dr. Helen Caldicott in Saskatoon CBC SK November 1, 2012

01:00
CBC Saskatchewan covered Dr. Helen Caldicott's public talk at Third Avenue United Church in Saskatoon on November 1, 2012. Just days after Dr. Caldicott's visit to Saskatoon, Prime Minster Stephen Harper announced he had finalized a deal to sell uranium to India, a country which refuses to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. So as Dr. Caldicott has stated, SK & Canada will continue to export poison and death to the world. India used Canadian nuclear technology to build and detonate a nuclear weapon in the 1970s. SK Premier is gleeful, and apparently prepared to believe India's plans to build 12 new nuclear reactors. Ancient Egyptian City Found In The Grand Canyon?

03:57
Support Us On Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/MysteryHistory We Are Also On Steemit: https://steemit.com/@mysteryhistory Firstly, many thanks to Ellen Lloyd over at Ancientpages.com for her extensive research and writing on the conspiracy. Has a buried city within the Grand Canyon been covered up? The Hopi Indians have a traditional story told to them by their ancestors. It details the original pyramid-builders living in an underworld in the Grand Canyon. Dissension arose between the good and the bad, the people of one heart and the people of two. Machetto, who was their chief, taught them how to leave the underworld. He caused a tree to grow up and pierce the roof of the underworld, letting the people of one heart climb out. They settled by Paisisvai (Red River), which is in Colorado, subsequently growing grain and corn. They then sent out a message to the Temple of the Sun, asking the blessing of peace, good will and rain for people of one heart. But their messenger never returned. Among the engravings of animals in the local caves is an image of a heart over the spot where it is said the entrance to be located. This legend was learned by W.E. Rollins, during a year spent with the Hopi Indians. An article published in the Arizona Gazette reinforced this legend. Ever since the article appeared there has been a lot of speculations whether an underground city actually exists. David Hatcher Childress, who examined the story said, “Perhaps the most amazing suppression of all is the excavation of an Egyptian tomb by the Smithsonian itself in Arizona. A lengthy front page story of the Phoenix Gazette on April 5, 1909, gave a highly detailed report on the discovery and excavation led by a Professor S.A. Jordan of the Smithsonian. The World Explorers Club decided to check on this story by calling the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. Speaking to a Smithsonian staff archaeologist. They told her that they were investigating a story from a 1909 Phoenix newspaper article, about the Smithsonian Institution’s excavation of rock-cut vaults in the Grand Canyon where Egyptian artefacts had been discovered, and whether the Smithsonian Institution could give me any more information on the subject. Her reply was as follows, “The first thing I can tell you, before we go any further, is that no Egyptian artefacts of any kind have ever been found in North or South America. Therefore, I can tell you that the Smithsonian Institute has never been involved in any such excavations.” While it cannot be discounted that the entire story is an elaborate newspaper hoax, the fact that it was on the front page, named the prestigious Smithsonian Institution, and gave a highly detailed story that went on for several pages, lends a great deal to its credibility. It is hard to believe such a story could have come out of thin air. Is the idea that ancient Egyptians came to the Arizona area in the ancient past so objectionable and preposterous that it must be covered up? Perhaps the Smithsonian Institution is more interested in maintaining the status quo than rocking the boat with astonishing new discoveries that overturn previously accepted academic teachings. Historian and linguist Carl Hart, editor of Word Explorer, then obtained a hiker’s map of the Grand Canyon from a bookstore in Chicago. Poring over the map, they were amazed to see that much of the area on the north side of the canyon has Egyptian names. The area around Ninety-four Mile Creek and Trinity Creek had areas (rock formations, apparently) with names like Tower of Set, Tower of Ra, Horus Temple, Osiris Temple, and Isis Temple.” Could these legends actually be true? http://www.ancientpages.com/2014/11/19/mystery-lost-underground-city-grand-canyon/

Northern Vertex $NEE.V $NHVCF Could Be Producing Gold Before Year End 2017

12:47
http://goldstocktrades.com/blog Corrections in gold can be quite painful but they also provide excellent entry points along a rising long term trend. Even better than physical gold and silver is finding the one or two junior mining companies out of 999 that actually make it to becoming a cash flowing producing gold mine. Although there is never a sure bet in gold mining it helps to find the few unique gold mining equities which are on the verge of production. I have found a few situations like which are developers who transitioned to producers and they outperformed. Many times as a company de-risks and permits a mine they are often acquired by larger entities at high premiums and the market rewards these developments. That is why you must keep your eye on Northern Vertex (NEE.V or NHVCF) an emerging producer located only seven miles east of Bullhead City, Arizona. They are starting construction on an open pit mine where the Vein is exposed over the full strike length of the pit. Hundreds of jobs will be created over the next year in this area. I know many of my readers are miners, service providers and rent/sell mining equipment. If you do business in the Southwest you better get to know Northern Vertex as they may be in production by the Fall of 2017 and could possibly use your services. According to the Feasibility Study they could produce 40k ounces annually. I am looking forward to reporting to my subscribers over the next nine months the build out of the mine with the first gold pour in possibly October of 2017. I got excited by this project over the past few months and finally picked up a position in the recent Private Placement which closed just a few weeks ago. There are not too many gold projects in the US this close to production and with low cash costs outlined in the Feasibility study under $700 an ounce. This is in the lowest cost quartile of the industry and that is why companies like Northern Vertex are less effected by gold price downturns because of its low cost profile. The location is excellent just off route 66 an hour and half drive from Las Vegas and near an international airport. This great infrastructure brings down the capital expenses. The cost to build the mine is around $33 million which is very low for the industry and the return is excellent around 50% post Tax IRR. Arizona is behind this project evidenced by the attendance of Governor Brewer at the ribbon cutting ceremony at the mine. They want more jobs and higher tax revenues. What is truly unique about Northern Vertex is that they are beginning construction and they only issued less than 100 million shares. That is very impressive and a testament to management to keep the capital share structure nice and neat and to the high net worth investors who have provided the over $50 million of capital spent so far. I recently paid $.40 in the recent PP which was oversubscribed. This should act as the new support level. Any price below that should be considered a bargain. The market cap is low in my opinion for an emerging producer in the US. It should be noted the stock is tightly held by Insiders and institutions meaning there is not a lot of volume and liquidity. There is little retail interest yet so investors looking to acquire a position should place bids in and not buy above recent highs hit at $.50 as market orders could drive the price higher very quickly. Northern Vertex is in a 2 year 45 degree uptrend. Pullbacks to or below the 200 DMA have provided excellent entry points over the past 2 years. Although the past is not indicative of the future, a strong historical 45 degree uptrend in a difficult and volatile gold market is quite impressive. Disclosure: I (Jeb Handwerger) own securities in Northern Vertex and they are website sponsor. This should be considered a conflict of interest as I could benefit from price/volume increase and have been compensated. How American Indian Land Is Still Being Stolen For Mining - Kierán Suckling

34:35
American Indian land is being stolen from them for valuable mining rights, and we look at how the Congress’ secret giving away of Apache sacred sites is awakening outrage over a pattern of theft and environmental exploitation with Kierán Suckling. Racism against Native Americans, the catastrophic mining practices being used, Oak Flat Apache protests, and the actions that can be taken against government land grabs for corporations is all discussed in this Antidote interview, hosted by Michael Parker. . GUEST BIO: Kierán Suckling is a founder and executive director at the Center for Biological Diversity. In addition to overseeing its conservation and financial programs, he created and maintains the country's most comprehensive endangered species database. Kierán acts as liaison between the Center and other environmental groups, negotiates with government agencies, and writes and lectures; he has authored scientific articles and critical essays on biodiversity issues. IDM Mining $IDM.V $RVRCF Discovering New High Grade Gold Zones at Red Mountain

13:00
http://goldstocktrades.com/blog IDM Mining (IDM.V or RVRCF) is having a great summer starting with an updated PEA published in July which showed low cost underground production and capital costs. However, one of the areas which could be improved is mine life where a larger resource is required to be taken out by a mid-tier producer. It seems management has addressed that issue with the drill discovering new high grade gold zones with consistent and impressive high grade drill results which should be continuing through this Autumn. There are few high quality near term producers in Canada and especially in BC's Golden Triangle. IDM is one of the few left after Kaminak, Lake Shore and Claude which were all acquired earlier this year. If IDM keeps on hitting these results they may not be around much longer. Disclosure: I own securities in IDM Mining and they are a paid advertising sponsor on my website. This should be considered a conflict of interest as I could benefit from price/volume increase and have been compensated. See full disclaimer and current advertising rates by clicking on the following link: http://goldstocktrades.com/blog/featured-companies-on-gold-stock-trades/ Section 17(b) provides that: “It shall be unlawful for any person, by the use of any means or instruments of transportation or communication in interstate commerce or by the use of the mails, to publish, give publicity to, or circulate any notice, circular, advertisement, newspaper, article, letter, investment service, or communication, which, though not purporting to offer a security for sale, describes such security for a consideration received or to be received, directly or indirectly, from an issuer, underwriter, or dealer, without fully disclosing the receipt, whether past or prospective, of such consideration and the amount thereof.”
